Choice of the day: 1972 Saab 96
Choice of the day: 1972 Saab 96

I'll say it before I'm one of those weird people who love Saab cars. I have seven models over the years and people who love Saab do differently. Their cars are different from all other automakers and tend to offer rather innovative features before other manufacturers. They are also fun to offer good performance and practicality in a unique styling package. Additionally, Saab has achieved great competitive success on the World Rally Stage, and driver Erik Carlsson is their most famous. Carlsson is nicknamed "Carlsson-on-The-The-The-Frave" because his habit is sometimes rolling Saab rally and getting wheels in the air. Despite these misfortunes occasionally, Carlson scored many victories on Saab, including at the Monte Carlo Rally, and in 1962 and 1963 he won first place in 1962 and 1963 while driving the Saab 96. ClassicCars.com's day draft pick was Carlsson who won not only in Monte Carlo, but also in the Czech Republic, San Remo and Acropolis Rallies: 1972 Saab 96,…

Autohunter Focus: 1987 Chevrolet Camaro Iroc-Z
Autohunter Focus: 1987 Chevrolet Camaro Iroc-Z

The third generation Camaro, What was launched in 1982 was exactly what the company needed. The outgoing Camaro has been in production since 1970 and says it's getting bigger and bigger, an understatement. GM needed a new pony carriage, and Camaro was shipped. Unlike the Ford Mustang, which turned into a smaller car in the Focus body iteration, the new Camaro is a bigger car, which makes it even more present. I was a high school freshman when the new Camaro was released and remembered thinking about how great it looked. During the years of the car's life cycle, General Motors introduced the IROC-Z and took a hit from the start. This performance-centric version of Camaro includes all the performance drills that GM had to offer at the time, including an aerodynamic kit with revised spoilers and blind-style covers; a heavily revised suspension with special high-performance springs, shock and swing rods; 16×8-inch alloy wheels with 245/VR50 tandem tires and a…

Choice of the day: 1999 BMW Z3 MCoupé
Choice of the day: 1999 BMW Z3 MCoupé

There are some cars You know that moment they were on the market was special. Think of cars like the Ford GT, the Porsche 911 Speedster, the Lexus LFA. I know when all cars that were launched are collectible. Most interestingly, not all of these cars have been successful. The Ford GT sat in the showroom for many years, the LFA is a car that many people simply don't know about, and outside the traditional Lexus universe, it's almost from another manufacturer. Another of these cars is the BMW Z3 MCoupé. It was a new car, and it was new at the time, but another car I knew was a collector. One reason is that the BMW Z3 MCoupé quickly earned the nickname of "The Joker Show" (which doesn't mean a good way), which is very polarizing for journalists. Most people think this is a little weird, and despite the strong performance it lacks the excellent style of most BMWs…

Autohunter Spotlight: 1972 Ford Mustang Sports Facer
Autohunter Spotlight: 1972 Ford Mustang Sports Facer

I really like it 1971 - 1973 Mustang Sports Hygiene. With the right engine, it's a powerful performance car, with crazy styling and added comfort mixed together. I like to think of these as real GT cars that offer comfortable, cool styling and performance that makes high-speed off-road travel easy and fun. As a result, when one of them appears on Autohunter, I will try to jump off it to promote it. If it's one of the rarest versions of Sports Facor, then I'm more inclined to use it. That's why the Autohunter Spotlight Car today was the 1972 Ford Mustang Sports Fire Sprint. The keyword is sprint. To commemorate the 1972 Olympics, Ford created a special option for the Mustang called the Sprint Edition. The A-Option Group includes special red, white and blue exterior paint, American graphics on the rear quarter panel, accent stripes, front bumper for color keys, a tail panel with accent stripes, color key wheel cover…

Choice of the day: 2013 Porsche Panamera 4S
Choice of the day: 2013 Porsche Panamera 4S

So I said at the beginning When it was introduced, I didn't like Panamera. Maybe it's because the first one I saw was a metal brown that looked like a big potato to me. I don't understand why Porsche thinks their four-door sedan needs to look like a 911. Then a few weeks ago, I got my first ride in the 2014 Panamera while attending the Amelia Concours D'Elegance. I was in the car with four other people, in the back seat. I am 6 feet 4 inches tall, and sitting next to me is my 6 feet tall friend Morgan. The driver and front seat passenger were my friends Alan Galbraith (6-foot-6) and Brian Hengeveld (6-foot-3), who is the owner of the Panamera Turbo S where we are located. It sounds incredible, it sounds incredible that we can sit comfortably in this Panamera, which doesn't mean the car is perfect for our trip, but it can be comfortable but…

Sometimes it's really hard
Sometimes it’s really hard

The fourth time Continuously, I had the opportunity to take a car from the Classic Auto Museum in Maine (I am the Collections Manager) and showcased on Amelia Concours D'Elegance. This year, we chose the 1954 Hudson Italia for the event. Not only is this any Italian (already a special car built with only 26), but it is the only untouched car of the 26, completely original until its 71-year-old tires. Before Italy was shipped to Florida, I went to Maine and spent four days meticulously cleaning and preparing for it. This may not sound like a big deal, but for an old and original car you have to be extra careful because some paint is breaking and your job is to clean the car without causing more paint to fall off. After this is done, we make sure the car is mechanically prepared, check all systems and make sure the car is driving. Everything is fine, so Hudson was…

Autohunter Spotlight: 1965 Ford Mustang Convertible

In the world of American collectors There is no more popular car than the Ford Mustang. These cars are the most supported collector cars that are parts, a strong network of clubs and only dedicated stores in the Mustang. The reason for this is that Mustangs, especially the models from the 1960s have been popular. Ford Mustangs are produced uninterrupted and they have always been in the eyes of the public. They are also the most recognizable classic cars in the world. Ask anyone to identify a person, even someone with no car hobby, they will know what a Mustang is. The Mustang is also a fun car that can easily upgrade modern drivetrains, suspension, interior and brakes, making it a classic car you can drive every day. This is a V8-powered car that can drive the highway at a speed, buy groceries, take you to work, and looks great at any local or regional auto show you might want…

Choice for the day: 2000 BMW Z3M Roadster
Choice for the day: 2000 BMW Z3M Roadster

Letter m BMW World is reserved for its highest performance model. Over the past few years, older M-Model BMWs such as the M3, M5 and M6 have become serious collectors of cars, with prices rising and reduced supply of quality cars. The price of the second-generation E36 M3 car has almost doubled over the past two years, and the third-generation M3 has also risen rapidly as a collector car, with prices rising. BMW fans fully understand the reason: The M designation not only means a higher horsepower engine treads it into the existing model, but also represents a complete redesign – the suspension, brakes, interior, exterior, exterior and chassis are all improved. But a real M-model car seems largely forgotten - surprisingly, it's the most fun driving M Cars BMW of all time: Z3M Roadster. According to the year, these cars use BMW S52 or S54 inline 6-cylinder engines. Yes, the later S54s drove the car faster, but all got…

Autohunter Spotlight: 1967 Sunbeam Tiger
Autohunter Spotlight: 1967 Sunbeam Tiger

Most 1960s car related Carroll Shelby is expensive, starting at about $150,000, which is far more than a million dollars. Many enthusiasts believe that the easiest/cheapest way to use a true classic Shelby vehicle is to use it with the later GT350. Honestly, there is a different option to get the Shelby experience, which in some ways is more fun than the comparable Shelby Mustang. That car is a sunshine tiger. Currently, sales dealers provide examples of this 1967 British hybrid on Autohunter and offer 260 hoods, steel covers, certificates of authenticity and clear titles. Sunbeam Tiger was born because the company needed to make the Sunbeam Alpine (on it) a high-performance car. Sunbeam initially contacted Ferrari about using one of its four-cylinder engines, but eventually it will commission Shelby to develop a V8 version of Alpine using the Ford 260CI small block V8. There's more to this story, but essentially, Shelby developed the Tiger for $10,000, while Sunbeam bought…

Choice of the day: 2005 Porsche 911 Carrera
Choice of the day: 2005 Porsche 911 Carrera

Since I was 16 years old I own over 33 Porsche 911 and 912 series cars - from the low-end 1968 912 Targa to the 1973 Carrera RS. As a result, I have a lot of opinions on the 911 model, some of which are less popular than others. One of them unwelcome Honestly, I think the peak of the 911 development is the 997 model. I say that because the subsequent 991 and 992 ERA models became too big and too heavy, changing the classic 911 outline for the first time, making my eyes almost ridiculous. Of course, later cars (especially in the GT2 and GT3 forms) are one of the most expected and expensive 911 cars around. Still, for me, 997 represents the perfection of 911. The truth is, you can buy a nice 997 era 911 because I think the price will only add to the attractiveness of the model. The choice of the day was one…

Autohunter Focus: 2003 Mercedes-Benz SL55 AMG
Autohunter Focus: 2003 Mercedes-Benz SL55 AMG

over the years I own almost every post-war model produced by Mercedes-Benz. Whether it's a luxury car or a sport/GT model, many of these cars are impressive, well-crafted and well-designed for their specific tasks. That being said, in my opinion, there is a Mercedes that stands out for the rest, especially when considering the model built from 1990 to now: the SL55 AMG. A few years ago, I bought the SL55 AMG and used it as a "Montel Auto Week car" for two consecutive years. The vehicle performs very well, with a 0-60 time of 4.5 seconds and a 0-100 mph time of 9.9 seconds, which is only one tenth slower than the Ferrari 575m Maranello. If you think of it as the 575 version of Mercedes, you won't be too far away. Remember, Mercedes-Benz literally invention The luxury sports/GT convertible category was of excellent quality when it launched the R230 (SL-Class) generation in 2001. Compared to the later SL63,…

Choice of the day: 1982 BMW 320i
Choice of the day: 1982 BMW 320i

This year marks the 50th anniversary BMW 3 Series. While many people think 2002 is a model for really putting BMW on the map, I think – and will continue to do so – it was the introduction of the 320I in the United States that led to BMW becoming the Powerhouse brand today. Unlike the 2002 model, it's a model for those who know about performance and sports cars, the 320i is the car, becoming one of the successful measuring sticks in the Yuppie generation of the 1980s. This is the first "status symbol" BMW model, the company sold 1.3 million E21 3 series cars worldwide. Since then, the 3 series remains one of the company's most important cars and one of its largest sellers. It is easier to find a first-generation M3 in good condition than a good E21 320i, which is why I chose the 1982 BMW 320i of this day as my choice for the day.…

1973 Ford Mustang Mach 1
1973 Ford Mustang Mach 1

I've always liked it The final iteration of the classic Mustang. Yes, it's bigger and heavier than the previous cars, but the styling, especially the sports version, is simply amazing. It has an almost vertical rear window (providing minimal rear visibility) and an extra-long hood. It's more like a GT car than a muscle or a pony car, but since I like GT cars, that's a good thing. Additionally, these ultimate classic Mustangs have a nice and comfortable passenger compartment and must be the best choice for long-distance driving from all classic Mustangs. Finally, Sean Connery’s character in James Bond in Diamond adds to the charm of these cars forever. I actually grew up in one of them because my mom had a new one in the exact same color scheme. Now, on the Autohunter is one of these great cars, the 1973 Ford Mustang Mach. California sellers describe this Mustang Mach 1 as powered by a Q-Code 351 Cleveland…

Choice of the day: 1966 Aston Martin DB6
Choice of the day: 1966 Aston Martin DB6

If you don't I figured it out, I love Aston Martins. Over the years, I've been happy to have several people and of all the brands I own in my garage, the Astonians are the most special brand to me. I used to always glance at an Astonian in my garage before going to the house and feel the lucky car is so special and beautiful. For me, Ferrari, Porsche or other high-end cars are good, but Aston just offers something special. My choice today is the best Aston for me, the 1966 Aston Martin DB6. I said fit Literally, it provides the most head and legroom for my 6-foot-foot self. Of course, the DB4 is the purest classic Aston, and the DB5 is the top of the heap, but the often used DB6 (though the weight penalty is actually negligible due to the Kamm tail and longer wheelbase) is what I like. Best of all, it asks me not…

Autohunter Spotlight: 1971 DATSUN 240Z
Autohunter Spotlight: 1971 DATSUN 240Z

All classic Japanese Honestly, the car there is the only car that is most important to start the American sports car Datsun 240Z. I own one and it does involve a classic sports car while being reliable and I dare say it is practical. Additionally, the 240Z has a good racing history and almost occupies SCCA racing in the class, teams like BRE show Europeans that they may need to go back to the drawing board. When I bought the last 240Z it only cost me $8,500, but the prices of good examples have been rising for the last five years or so. That being said, classic sports cars from the 1970s rarely offer dollar value and are easy to use and can even be used as everyday drivers, which is how I use it. This is a feature on Autohunter on the 1971 Datsun 240Z. The seller describes the 240Z as a car owned by a single family until…

Choice of the day: 2006 Mercedes-Benz SLK350
Choice of the day: 2006 Mercedes-Benz SLK350

I still remember I first saw the SLA concept and will become the second generation R171 Mercedes SLK Roadster, personally. I competed in Indianapolis Formula 1 in 2000 and was immediately designed to bring it. Compared to the first-generation SLK that I found was completely unstimulating, the new car has a retro and modern look and is one of the fast and still-looking designs. Somehow most elements of the concept car will be used in the R171 SLK Roadster, which leads me to think it is one of the most exciting Mercedes designs of the era. Aside from looking at it well, the SLK is more interesting than the LD model, and is also a smaller, sportier alternative to the Mercedes SL. This is something Mercedes has lacked for decades. Our choice of the day was one of these cars, the 2006 Mercedes-Benz SLK350, offered by dealers on ClassicCars.com in Glen Ellyn, Illinois. The seller describes this SLK350 as a…

Autohunter Spotlight: 1959 Edel Ranger
Autohunter Spotlight: 1959 Edel Ranger

Sometimes car companies do this There is almost no point in things. This may be because the marketing department does not include any automotive personnel or external consultants. Another reason this happens is that when the company head makes a decision, no one wants to tell them what they think is crazy. Essentially, this is how Edsel Automobile's entire product line was formed. Ford became a public company in 1956 and is no longer run by the Ford family alone. There are some bright sparks in Ford's new management that make the company's lineup the same as GM and Chrysler. However, this leads to the wrong idea that Lincoln competes not with Cadillac, but with Oldsmobile, Buick and Desoto. It sounds completely wrong to hear today. Ford has developed a plan to relocate Lincoln’s more upscale upscale and add new brand mid-range cars to what they think Lincoln is occupied. At the time, Ford's new management team insisted that they…

1970 Ford Mustang Boss 302
1970 Ford Mustang Boss 302

Recently, I have been trying Think of a car that is suitable for you to do in collector cars. The basic idea is a bicycle collection: you only buy one collector car, which can cover all content. My choice was the Ford Mustang boss 302 in 1970. I think this car is fully in line with the bill. Ford's GM/FORD competition peak in Pro Racing made the boss 302 during the peak era. The specific reason for creating the 1969-70 BOSS 302 is to comply with SCCA's certification requirements, that is, they are eligible to participate in the 305Ci and Trans-AM Road Racing series in 1969. The owner of the boss 302 is very different from the Ford 302 of the inventory, with a thin -walled and high nostril casting. In addition, it has a strong lift, four bolts, and special heads with tilt valve design, which can develop larger valves for the planned 351 Cleveland. The engine rated 290…

AutoHunter Focus: 2012 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1
AutoHunter Focus: 2012 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1

Most people think of Chevrolet Camaro was fast on the line, and the road became distorted. Chevrolet sees what the game is doing (that is, Shelby Mustang), and decided to make a Camaro, which is very suitable for the fast movement on the track and other highly focused cars (even Europeans) (even Europeans). Keep synchronization. For the name of this new car, GM returned to the file and called it Camaro ZL1. The amazing 580 horsepower and 556 LB-FT torque provides enough power to ZL1. GM combines it with the chassis, including its third -generation magnetic impact, which is a car that really belongs to its element on any orbit day. ZL1 is this Camaro of a sports car driver. Now, on AutoHunter, the power auction platform provided by Classiccars.com is one of the cars and is the 2012 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 Coupe. According to the seller, this bass 2012 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 coupe provides power by the LSA supercharged…

The top 5 cars were sold at the Scottsdale auction in Bonhams
The top 5 cars were sold at the Scottsdale auction in Bonhams

In the past yearBonhams has been struggling. It often operates outstanding cars, but it seems that the company has been working hard to find buyers. This surprised me because Bonhams has some of the best customer services in the field of boutique auction. It has always made everywhere, so that everyone participating in sales is welcomed and part of the family. For Bonhams, this is a single difference, because it comes from the company's culture, it is difficult to copy. One of the main reasons for trouble is that several top experts in Bonhams have moved to other companies. This includes top people, such as Malcolm Barber and Jakob Greisen. Nick Smith (Nick Smith) returned to Bonhams (Bonhams) From a more positive perspective, Bonhams has become many new employees, and the experts I encounter are very good in work. In addition, Nick Smith, the founder of Bonhams' auction, is back. In my opinion, these new employees and reorganizations, coupled with…

Selection of the day: 1963 Porsche 356B Coupe
Selection of the day: 1963 Porsche 356B Coupe

During the trip Last week I gave me at the car in Arizona. I seemed to spend a lot of time discussing the benefits of Porsche 356. 356 may be the best car in the 1950-60 1950s of the 1950-60s in old-fashioned travel and rally. Most of the benefits of beetles are included in 356, such as the simplicity of mechanical and huge reliability. This means that many owners can perform conventional services themselves. If 356 is considered to be a well -made and exquisite Volkswagen Beetle, you will understand. In fact, you can use many of the same tools and programs on the main services of the beetle on the 356. For me, this is a person who wants to participate in it more with him/Heraku, which is a perfect car. In addition, 356B is much stronger than any beetle. You think many people think it is a perfect collector car. Today's choice is one of the cars. This…

2008 Datqi Challenger SRT8 500
2008 Datqi Challenger SRT8 500

I still remember When it covered the Chicago Automobile Exhibition, the 2008 Taoist challenger was launched. Many of us have seen the original challenger concept car, but we all want to know whether Chrysler will make the production car correctly. We don't have to worry, because Dodge shows more cars in the event than we want. In my opinion, compared with Ford Mustang and Chevrolet Camaro, this is the best execution of modern muscle cars. Every element from the outside to the internal element seems perfect. The new challenger also published an interesting advertising activity, including a series of advertisements, such as this advertisement. Over the years, I have drove several of them, but I still feel that in the modern horses, Dodge is the best respect in 1960s and 1970s. This is a very good driving fast car, which can be handled well. As a result, I regard the first year of the new challenger as a future collector…

AutoHunter Spotlight: 2000 Plymouth Prowler
AutoHunter Spotlight: 2000 Plymouth Prowler

we all need to thank Former Chrysler design chief Tom Gale designed the Plymouth Prowler for us. No, the car isn't perfect, but Tom's love for classic hot rods made the Prowler a reality. The original idea behind the Prowler has an interesting history. This is the design thesis of Art Center College of Design student Douglas “Chip” Foss. His project featured several radical elements of a modern production car, the most interesting of which were the open Indy car-style front fenders. The Prowler is also a low-volume production car. Only 11,702 were built in six years. Now featured on AutoHunter is one of those cars, a 2000 Plymouth Prowler with 4,930 miles on it. The seller describes the car as a 2000 Plymouth Prowler, powered by the original 3.5-liter 24-valve SOHC V6 engine paired with a four-speed adaptive automatic transaxle. The car has the original Prowler Red paint over the original black leather interior. Selling dealers now provide the…

1961 Morgan Plus 4 Super Sport

When I search ClassicCars.com For my daily vehicle picks, I treat the process like a treasure hunt. Among the tens of thousands of cars on the site, some are real gems. I never know what I'll find there. Many cars have incredible stories from when they were new. Of all the cars I've seen on our site, none have been as incredible as the one I found for my piece today. If this car could talk - well, it could tell stories. Today's Pick of the Day is a very special 1961 Morgan Plus 4 Super Sports located at the dealership in Stratford, Connecticut. Not only does this car have an incredible story, but it's also one of the best deals I've ever seen on our site. This is the car from 1962 Le Mans 24 Hours Endurance Race. (Photo courtesy of Morgan Motor Company.) This is no ordinary Plus 4 Super Sports (this car is already quite rare), it's…

AutoHunter Spotlight: 1972 Datsun 240Z
AutoHunter Spotlight: 1972 Datsun 240Z

before you all go crazy I do know from the reviews that this 240Z comes with a less than ideal automatic transmission. For purists, this is a direct reason to skip this list and look for a car with a manual transmission. Keep in mind that the price difference between the manual 240Z and the automatic 240Z is approximately 25%. Considering you can convert a 240Z from a 280Z to a 5-speed for around $6,000, this makes this an attractive proposition. With all this in mind, we're featuring this 1972 Datsun 240Z on AutoHunter, the online auction platform powered by ClassicCars.com. It's being offered by a dealer in Gladstone, Oregon, and the auction will end on Tuesday, January 21 at 11:30 a.m. MST The seller describes this 240Z as a California car, powered by a numbers-matching L24 2.4L inline six-cylinder engine mated to a three-speed X0700 automatic transmission. Painted in my favorite 240Z color (code 918 Orange) over the original…

Daily Pick: 2009 Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG
Daily Pick: 2009 Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG

I still remember fondly The first day of the C63 press conference. It was held in Paradise Valley, Arizona, and it was my first time riding in a car. After a few miles we came to a traffic light. What should be parked next to me but a Ferrari 355 Spyder. This guy literally defines the Ferrari driver stereotype: wearing a Ferrari Polo shirt, a two-tone Rolex Datejust, Persol sunglasses, and sitting in the passenger seat is a woman one-third his age. He looked at the C63 with little interest, noting the wider fenders and huge tires (not to mention the exhaust note our car made). When the light came on, he took off with a lot of noise and wheelspin, but we were already about 50 yards ahead of him. When he met us at the next traffic light, he looked at our silver sedan in confusion. "What the hell is that Mercedes? I really want to catch you!"…

1966 Chevrolet Corvair Corsa Tribute
1966 Chevrolet Corvair Corsa Tribute

when you purchase When it comes to a collector car, deciding who to buy it from can sometimes be almost as important as the car itself. In my experience, dealing with an honest and knowledgeable seller is the difference between buying a good car or a bad one. In the world of the Chevrolet Corvair, one of the best sellers I've ever met in the industry is Chris Shade of Shade Classic Cars in Hastings, Nebraska. He's the kind of guy who not only tells you which of his cars to buy, but also asks you what you expect from the car and tells you not to buy it if it doesn't suit you. Chris is also a legitimate Corvair expert and has a personal collection of Corvairs. He also restored, rebuilt, raced and showed the cars. That being said, today's pick is a tribute to the 1966 Chevrolet Corvair Corsa (please ignore the incorrect title at the top of…

AutoHunter Spotlight: 1991 Acura Legend L
AutoHunter Spotlight: 1991 Acura Legend L

When Honda launched the Acura In 1986, they created something the world had never seen before: a truly top-shelf luxury car from Japan. Sure, the Japanese have been building cars like the Monarch and President for years for their home market, but these cars aren't seen anywhere else in the world and are just single models rather than entire car lines. Acura's concept proved to be quite successful, and before long you had Toyota launching the Lexus and Nissan launching the Infiniti. My favorite of all Acura vehicles has always been the Acura Legend Coupe. In fact, my family had one when I was a kid and I remember thinking the build quality was just as good as the BMW 633CSi we had at the time. Now, this 1991 Acura Legend L is listed on AutoHunter, an auction platform powered by ClassicCars.com. The Legend is Acura's top model. Think of it as the company's version of the Mercedes-Benz S-Class, and…

AutoHunter Spotlight: 1965 Ford Mustang Fastback
AutoHunter Spotlight: 1965 Ford Mustang Fastback

when people ask me As for what I would recommend as their first classic American car purchase, I almost always give the same answer: a Ford Mustang. The 1964.5-1970 Ford Mustang is the most supportive and simple classic American car you can own. There are literally hundreds of quality restoration parts suppliers, and they are almost universally respected in every field of car collecting enthusiasts, and they look great and are fun to drive. Of all the Mustangs produced from 1964 to 1970, my favorite body style is the 1965 to 1966 Fastback 2+2. To me, they are one of the top five postwar American automobile designs and one of the best standard production automobile designs of the 20th century. The fusion of European and American styles allows designers to make everything perfect. If you doubt that, ask yourself why Ford has used the '65-'66 Fastback since 2005 as the template for the Mustang's basic design. One of those truly…

2003 BMW Z4 2.5i 5-speed
2003 BMW Z4 2.5i 5-speed

Many people like this idea Photo of a vintage British sports car. Maybe they owned one 30 years ago and have fond memories of long trips across the country in the car and want to relive those times. While plenty of people go out and buy a classic Triumph TR6 or MG MGB, many of them find that the cars they miss aren't that interesting after all. This could be because the car is constantly in need of repairs, or the basic seats are now not as comfortable as they once were. Additionally, cars from the 1960s and 1970s were slow compared to any modern car (even minivans). If you find yourself in the second category, I recommend another option: the BMW Z4 Roadster. The BMW Z4 is the second small convertible sports car offered by BMW in the United States. I own both a Z4 and a Z3. Although I think the Z3 has more classic styling, the Z4…

Review: 2025 BMW M4 Competition
Review: 2025 BMW M4 Competition

Forget about the Porsche 911 GT3 RS. This BMW is a better car for a third of the price. While visiting Los Angeles earlier this year, I had the opportunity to drive the 2025 BMW M4 Competition and see what kind of car it is. I have to say, it's certainly a track-ready vehicle that can also do double duty as a daily driver. If you think of it as a more civilized rival to the GT3 RS version of the 911, you're on the right track. My loaner car came with almost every available option, including the Driving Assistance Professional Package, Parking Assistance Package, Carbon Fiber Package, and Executive Package. Its as-tested price of $108,945 includes the special-order Chalk BMW individual paint color and a wild Yas Marina blue and black leather interior with yellow highlights, all of which perfectly match the exterior paint color. Even with the carbon fiber sport seats installed, the interior of the M4 is…

Pick of the Day: 2019 Lexus LC500
Pick of the Day: 2019 Lexus LC500

If you've always wanted a unique, top-of-the-line GT race car, but didn't want any of the potential hassles associated with it, there's really only one option: the Lexus LC500. With this car you get strong performance, fit and finish that rivals most offerings from European manufacturers. Most importantly, buying a Lexus gives you peace of mind, mostly because they are quite possibly the most reliable cars ever made. I drove an LC500 the 1,200 miles from Connecticut to the Greenbrier Concours about seven years ago, just after the model was introduced, and I can tell you that these cars are every bit as good as they say they are. Finishes include nice touches not found on any other car. Additionally, I was surprised by the number of people who reviewed the LC500, both older and younger enthusiasts telling me how much they loved the car. These things combined with a great experience behind the wheel make this car look nearly…

AutoHunter spotlights the 1987 Porsche 928 S4
AutoHunter spotlights the 1987 Porsche 928 S4

among all Porsche models My favorite is still the Porsche 928. This model, not the 911, was the car I wanted most when I was in high school in the 1980s. This is the car I have a poster on my wall, and this is the car I dreamed of. I actually worked in a Porsche shop in high school, and around 1983, I delivered one of the cars (a moss green metallic with tan leather) to the owner after we serviced it. This car blew me away with its incredibly solid build quality and complete lack of body lean in high-speed corners. It's an automatic transmission, but one that seems perfectly suited to the nature of the 928. Driving this car solidified my opinion of the 928: it was the greatest Porsche road car of the 1980s and one of the best GT cars of all time. This 1988 Porsche 928 S4 appeared on AutoHunter, an online auction platform…

Daily Pick: 1987 Porsche 944S
Daily Pick: 1987 Porsche 944S

back in timePorsche has always launched an entry-level car that brings people into the family at an affordable price. Someone might really want a 911, but can only afford it at a lower price. It didn't give them their "dream car," but it allowed them to still have a Porsche. I don't know what happened, but Porsche seems to have abandoned this strategy and adopted an almost Ferrari marketing strategy where all their cars are quite expensive. That's a shame, because some affordable cars like the original Boxster, 914, 912 and 924/944 cars were not only fun to drive, but also extremely well built. For many, they are a great entry point into the brand. Case in point, our Daily Pick, this 1987 Porsche 944S featured on ClassicCars.com. The 944S was Porsche's second economical car in the 1980s. However, this is a standard 944 car, and instead of the usual 214 hp 2.5 liter inline 4 engine, a twin cam…

1982 Chevrolet Corvette Collector's Edition
1982 Chevrolet Corvette Collector’s Edition

1970s and early 1980s It was a tough time for automakers selling sports cars in the United States. Whether you were Porsche, Ferrari, or Chevrolet, emissions regulations combined with ever-increasing safety standards had a serious negative impact on the era's high-performance cars. Influence. At that time, the Ferrari 308 GTBi's 0-60 acceleration time was only 7.9 seconds, and even the Porsche 928 needed 7 seconds. In the United States, sports cars have all but disappeared, save for one survivor: the Corvette. You have to give GM credit for continuing to build and develop the Corvette during the energy crisis, the climate crisis, and the overall decline of the entire sports car world at the time. It could have simply canceled the car and moved on, but it chose to keep the C3 as the Corvette record-holder for another 15 years, until 1982. The 1982 model gives the aging but still desirable C3 Corvette its final bow for collectors. This 22,000-mile…

AutoHunter Spotlight: 1964 Triumph TR4
AutoHunter Spotlight: 1964 Triumph TR4

All standard production The TR4 has always been my favorite car built by Triumph. It combines the proven Triumph inline-four engine and drivetrain with what I sincerely consider to be the most stunning design of any car in the company's history. Michelotti's looks are perfectly proportioned and look simultaneously Italian and British. The TR4's creature comforts were also greatly improved compared to other small-bore British cars before it, with details such as a folding convertible top and roller shutter windows being introduced for the first time. Additionally, the dashboard looks stunning with its Jaeger gauges and the very cool banjo steering wheel. For me, the TR4 and later six-cylinder version, the TR250, marked the end of the classic Triumph, as I felt the later TR6 lacked a bit of the TR4's elegance. The TR4 also has an excellent racing pedigree, with Bob Tullius running his Group 44 racing team on the East Coast of the United States and Kas Kastner…

2020 Mercedes-AMG GT C Coupe
2020 Mercedes-AMG GT C Coupe

This year marks Seven-time F1 world champion Lewis Hamilton drove for Mercedes last year after a hugely successful 12 seasons. During that time, he achieved an incredible 84 wins, 78 pole positions and 6 drivers' championships. To commemorate this incredible achievement in one of the most difficult and challenging series in motorsport, I decided to make my Daily Pick a fitting car to celebrate his achievement. Today’s pick is this stunning 2020 Mercedes-AMG GT C Coupe, which coincidentally was built in the same year that Hamilton won his sixth championship with Mercedes, which also put him in direct contact with Michael Schumacher has a tie of seven F1 titles. I think this choice is more appropriate because the AMG GT itself has a pretty amazing record, with class wins at almost every track in the world, including 1-4th place at the Nürburgring 24 Hours, and The 12 Hours of Sebring and the 24 Hours of Daytona. This particular car is…

AutoHunter Spotlight: 1987 Chevrolet Camaro IROC-Z
AutoHunter Spotlight: 1987 Chevrolet Camaro IROC-Z

of all americans Among the high-performance cars of the 1980s, the Chevrolet Camaro IROC-Z was one of the coolest cars, even though it still seems to have its share of jokes. The fact that I grew up during that time period does tend to predispose me to comments like this, but in the 1980s, Chevy sold thousands of IROCs to people 10 years older than me, and they all loved the car. IROC is so 1980s and RadWood that when you look at one of these you can almost hear Ratt's "Round and Round" on the stereo. Furthermore, the Camaro IROC-Z is a pretty serious performance car that announces to the world that American performance cars are back and here to stay. Heck, some of the world's most famous racers drive IROC-Zs on the circuits of the International Championship Series, the series from which the cars are named. The downside is that over time many of these cars have been…

1960 Alfa Romeo Giulietta Sprint
1960 Alfa Romeo Giulietta Sprint

Alfa Romeo Giulietta Sprints Possibly the most affordable and fun-to-drive classic Italian small-bore GT car available today. They offer striking Bertone closed-body styling, combined with service-friendly four-cylinder 750/101 Series Alpha mechanicals, and are eligible for dozens of driving and show events. Many people prefer the open-top Pininfarina Spider models, but as a driver, I honestly prefer the closed-top Sprint models because they drive better, look more elegant, and have rarer views than the open-top models. What's also cool is that the Alfa Giulietta Sprint was the first of Alfa Romeo's new cars and was launched before the Spider. The Daily Pick is one of them, a second series 1960 Alfa Romeo Giulietta Sprint located in Sacramento, California. The private seller describes this Alpha Sprint as "a stunning red exterior that perfectly captures the essence of Italian sports car design. Elegant body lines are complemented by black leather seats, perforated cream headliner and black carpeting" The interior complements each other perfectly.”…

AutoHunter Spotlight: 1966 Pontiac GTO Convertible
AutoHunter Spotlight: 1966 Pontiac GTO Convertible

Pontiac GTO is Most people consider this to be the original muscle car. According to legend, this project was developed by John DeLorean after seeing what local street racers were doing to their cars, which was basically shoving a powerful full-size car engine into a midsize car. The combination worked, and the GTO has become a legend ever since. Featured in automatic hunter One of these legendary muscle cars is a 1966 Pontiac GTO convertible. The seller describes this GTO as being powered by a rebuilt 326ci V8 engine, paired with a four-speed manual transmission. It comes in red with black pinstripes and features a black convertible top over black vinyl interior. The exterior of the car appears to be in good condition, and the paint and brightwork appear to be in good condition. BMW Motorrad launches modern classic
BMW Motorrad launches modern classic

in more than 100 years In the history of BMW Motorrad, the most iconic model is the R 90 S. This motorcycle relaunched the BMW Motorrad brand in the early 1970s and in many ways saved the BMW Motorrad division. In 1976, the R 90 S took the world by storm when it won the Production TT race on the Isle of Man, with drivers Hans-Otto Butenuth and Helmut Dähne celebrating their class victory. In the same year, Steve McLaughlin (83rd) won the famous Daytona 200 race on a Butler & Smith-prepared R 90 S; his teammate Reg Pridmore (163rd) later became the first AMA Superbike Champion in history. BMW used this racing success to sell quite a few street versions of the R 90 S, which put BMW back in the spotlight as a top motorcycle manufacturer. Just in time for the holiday season, BMW has unveiled a motorcycle that pays homage to what many consider the most iconic…

Pick of the Day: 2008 Aston Martin Vantage
Pick of the Day: 2008 Aston Martin Vantage

Today's selection It's a 2008 Aston Martin Vantage, for sale on ClassicCars.com from a New York dealer. Before everyone comments on how crazy Aston Martin service costs are, take a moment to look at this amazing car. It's painted in what's called Glacier Blue, which is probably one of the most beautiful colors I've ever seen on an Aston Martin car. It showcases the design's stunning Ian Callum lines more than anything else, and pairs perfectly with the beige leather interior. The Aston Martin V8 Vantage is a car designed to go head-to-head with the Porsche 911. Yes, the 911 bests it in some performance areas, but no Porsche road car has the sophistication or drama of the Aston Vantage. . The dealer selling the car in Farmingdale, New York, says the car has pristine history, is free of any accidents or defects, and has only 53,358 miles on the odometer. It's powered by Aston's hand-built 4.3L V8 engine, which…

2000 BMW Z3 M Roadster
2000 BMW Z3 M Roadster

in category For modern high-performance sports cars, in my opinion, there is no better choice than the first-generation BMW Z3 M Roadster. Consider that these cars come from the BMW M Group. They all come standard with high-performance suspension, brakes and engines. Next, add reliability, powerful performance, the great-sounding BMW inline-six engine, and the ability to service the car yourself. Finally, don't forget about the retro/modern style (which looks better every year in my opinion) and the wonderfully comfortable sports car interior, and a great addition to your garage too. Many BMW "experts" will tell you that the only Z3 M's available were second-series models, but I beg to differ. To me, the price difference in performance isn't worth it. Yes, later cars equipped with the legendary BMW S54 engine had more power, but it wasn't that obvious from the driver's seat. The first-generation car accelerated from 0 to 60 mph in 5.4 seconds and hit the quarter mile in…

Daily Pick: 2005 Mercedes-Benz SL65 AMG
Daily Pick: 2005 Mercedes-Benz SL65 AMG

I have a great reputation Buying a very expensive car at the end of the depreciation cycle. I've done this with Aston Martins, Ferraris, Porsches, BMWs, etc. It's amazing to be able to buy a new car worth over $150,000 for less than $30,000. They still offer a class-leading experience just like they originally offered at the price of a mid-range Toyota Camry. Today's pick is a 2005 Mercedes-Benz SL65 AMG, a perfect example of one of these cars. It was powered by an amazing V12 engine with 604 horsepower and 738 pound-feet of torque, an interior packed with the best Mercedes had to offer at the time, and modern/classic styling that looks as good now as it did before. The car is new. These features combine to make this SL the perfect open-top GT racer. I attended the press launch for the SL65, so I know from experience that these are truly incredible cars. On a trip from Los…

AutoHunter Spotlight: 1968 Pontiac Firebird
AutoHunter Spotlight: 1968 Pontiac Firebird

for the first time i realized I saw the Pontiac Firebird while watching the TV show "Booker" in the 1980s. I don't know why it took me until 1989 to mentally register this model. Maybe it's because Pontiac (aside from the black Trans Am in Smokey and the Bandit) isn't a brand that piques my interest. To me, Booker's Blue Firebird takes everything that was great about the first-generation Chevrolet Camaro and improves it on styling. Since then, the first-generation Firebird has been my favorite production pony car, second only to the 1965-1967 Shelby Mustangs, cars that really can't be considered "production" cars. This 1968 Pontiac Firebird appears on AutoHunter, an online auction platform powered by ClassicCars.com. The Firebird you see here is powered by a 350 V8 engine and a two-speed automatic transmission. The car comes from the seller complete with cover, battery can, original removed speedometer, spare parts and New York license plates. The exterior of this Firebird…

Pick of the Day: 2000 BMW Z3
Pick of the Day: 2000 BMW Z3

let me start I said I love the BMW Z3 and I personally own one, so I'm a bit biased towards these cars. In fact, I think the Z3 is the best modern version of an old roadster ever made. Yes, Mazda still sells Miatas, but a 20-plus-year-old Z3 still feels better than any Miata I've driven (especially the interior). That's my opinion, but it's based on spending a lot of time in each vehicle. The Z3's materials were better, the car felt more solid, and the options far exceeded what Mazda was offering at the time. The reason is simple: the Z3 is a much more expensive car than the Miata, and the BMW can do things the Mazda can't do at the same price point. BMW's main focus was that while this car was powered by the M44 1.9 liter I4, a number of really great BMW I6 engines soon followed, making the Z3 a car with more…

AutoHunter Spotlight: 1967 Chevrolet Nova Hardtop
AutoHunter Spotlight: 1967 Chevrolet Nova Hardtop

Chevrolet Nova Located in an interesting spot in the world of collectible cars. Novas aren't as desirable as Chevelles, nor as valuable as Olds Cutlass or Buick Skylark, but their capabilities are very similar to those cars' capabilities. They're just as fun to drive and easy to maintain, but cost a lot less. They are what my Nova-loving friends call the "bread and butter" American collector cars. This 1967 Chevrolet Nova appears on AutoHunter, an online auction platform operated by ClassicCars.com. The seller describes this 1967 Chevrolet Nova as a fully restored two-door hardtop powered by a 327ci V8 engine and four-speed manual transmission. The car is finished in blue with a black vinyl top covering a black vinyl interior. During this car's restoration, it received some welcome upgrades, including a rebuilt engine and new parts like a high-lift cam, Weiand aluminum intake manifold, Demon four-barrel carburetor, gear-driven timing systems, aluminum radiators and aluminum and chrome cosmetic items. The car…
