Super Bowl 2025: Cars and Advertising
Super Bowl 2025 Come and go. For someone like me who grew up on both sides of Philadelphia, this game was a feel-good game, with anti-heroes beating the team that social media wants to hate. But, honestly, I'm a fan of sunny weather, watching the Super Bowl for the commercial. The picking is slim when it comes to cars and advertising, but it's a list of few that will attract car enthusiasts, as well as halftime surprises. Some of this Jeep commercials were written by the same contributor. Of course, celebrities are an easy way out for advertisers, but Harrison Ford is the one who does it. Note that inspiration is cleverly used when the Mustang drives, not to mention Ford’s poetic strikeback. There are many cars We no longer see thousands (if not a hundred or more) on the road for sale. Choice of the day: 1956 Studebaker Championship
Have met the company Did the car with sound style ruin it just with a makeover? Of course, the look is subjective, but we can also try to keep an objective judgment when we decide to wear the hat. What examples can you think of? Plymouth, 1959? 1998 Firebird? Considering the avatar of height earlier: the 1956 Studebaker Champion Two-Door Sedan, our day was a disappointing car. The Rare 1970 Oldsmobile 4-4-2 W30
If you look Postal coupes in GM's performance portfolio, you might notice a special trend: they are always sold in trivial numbers compared to Hardtop Brothers. Over time, you may notice that they are being overtaken by convertibles. Is entry-level cost and weight-reduced racers instead of big selling points? Usually, that's it. High school teacher The past tells us: "History is not history of the past." This is definitely true in the automotive world considering that the TS model is no longer a popular collectible. In a more localized moment, Dune Off-Road suffered a similar fate - once everywhere, now they are an unusual sight. The Tri-5 Chevrolet is still a staunch person in the hobby and doesn't seem to be accepted by the old and new people (Restomods, is anyone?). This is also true for Hyundai frigates, and I see a bright future for all the Japanese cars that are becoming more and more popular in popularity, especially on the West Coast. Choice of the day: 1970 Dodge Charger 500 SE
Like many cars The 1970 Dodge Crown series was built in an era of planned outdated style, and its shape was unique in its three years. By contrast, the 1970 charger has a simple makeover, but as our choice of the day proves, the changes are more than just shallow. A dealer in Allen, Texas, sold on ClassicCars.com in 1970's Dodge Charges 500 SE. (Click this link to view the list) The 1969 Dodge Charger 500 is manufactured in NASCAR. The 1970 Dodge Charger seems to confuse enthusiasts at times - especially for the 500-digit charger. Just a year ago, Dodge introduced the special Special The Charger 500 of NASCAR, but now Dodge has a completely different charger in 1970? It looks confusing, but it's easy to explain. Starting in 1962, Dodge has introduced a new model in its full-size range and calls it the Polara 500. This model includes barrel seats and a console, which is trending in Detroit.…

Selection of the day: 1971 Pleum Muster Twister
This word posture There is usually no good meaning. I first encountered the word punk rock world to describe someone. However, when the car world is involved, Poseur may not bring such negative luggage. A typical one is our day, the Pritters Duster Twister in 1971. It was listed by the distribution of Rahoa Raiga in Florida. (Click this link to view the list) For the American automobile industry, 1971 is not a wonderful year. Around 1967 to 68, the performance car market was very strong, and the volcanic mouth began soon. By 1970, the performance car was about half a year or two. The insurance industry must play a role, because it only has performance, such as the four -speed manual transmission, which has won surcharges. Of course, it can be equipped with a Mustang of 302 two barrels of Mustang, and this car is the farthest thing in the scream. During this period, the manufacturer introduced several models…

American, GermanBoth Canadians and British people walked into the bar. What is the point? I don't know, but these four automatic draft rights come from different countries. If you think it is technical, you find two yanks, then you are not wrong, but there is no mercury pickup in the United States. Why does Ford need Mercury to pick up and drop off? Because of the lack of population in Canada that day, dealers in more rural areas have decreased. When there is no local Ford's sales store, Mercury pickups will keep Ford Motor in operation. More automotive joy from Barrett-Jackson 2025 Scottsdale
in the past few A few days ago we showed you some neat cars sitting outside under the tent. Now, it's time to show you some classics underneath the big top! This is a choice that's bound to attract horsepower! 1970 Pontiac GTO Judge Ram Air III Convertible (Batch 1449.2)Jim Wangers, the godfather of the GTO, was a marketing purist who felt the Judge should not have continued into the 1970 model year because it was a promotional model designed to bump GTO sales up a notch. Not so, although 10 percent of the 1969 GTOs were made up of Judges, plus the performance package added to the GTO's image and charm. The Bean Counter won, and the judges continued until 1970. With a strong standstill, the GTO performs well and designers have tweaked the Judge's package. The overall effect is more extrovert. The equipment remains the same after the later additions to the 455. This Verdoro Green judge convertible…
Diego’s AutoHunter Picks | ClassicCars.com Magazine
by the time As you read this, I will have spent the week at the Barrett-Jackson 2025 Scottsdale Auction. That's not the only game in town, however - AutoHunter has tons of cars up for bid every day. This makes it easier for me to curate my AutoHunter picks, considering that AutoHunter doesn't have over 2,000 cars to choose from like Barrett-Jackson. How lucky I am! But choosing four was no easy task. Oh no, another Chevy! Or maybe the photographer left something to be desired. or. . . It covers all areas. Nonetheless, I think the following four should have broad appeal to most collectors. Pick of the Day: Mercury Colony Park, 1965
do you know What was the best-selling station wagon of the 1960s? If you're talking about the Ford Country Squire, you're right. So how to top the country's best-selling station wagon? Chevrolet and Plymouth may have an idea, but the answer to the question may also be found in Dearborn with a more prestigious marque, as evidenced by our Daily Pick, a 1965 Mercury Park Lane. It is listed for sale on ClassicCars.com by a dealer in St. Louis, Missouri. (Click this link to view the list.) Mercury's Colony Park first hit the market in 1957, the year that dream car design distinguished the Mercury line. It was also at that time that the brand dropped its ties to Ford and Lincoln, making it unique among FoMoCo vehicles. That didn't last long due to the Edsel's fiasco, and the Mercury ended up becoming a more upscale Ford within a few years, even touting itself as a "better low-price car." Having…
Barrett-Jackson 2025 Scottsdale: Tent Car 2
Yesterday we showed you Cars from Tent 1 at Barrett-Jackson's 2025 Scottsdale auction, a combination of cars we think deserves your attention among the glorious Restomods and Paganis. Are you ready for a selection of Tent 2? The set contains several pre-war cars, leaning towards the types of cars that were at the top of the Barrett-Jackson auction list in the early days of the auction, 40-50 years ago. Is there anything to rob you of? 1967 Chevrolet Corvette 427/400 Convertible (Lot No. 1007)Have you ever looked forward to the emergence of a new generation of models? Why buy the best evolution of an older generation when you can get something new and improved? I bet some 1968 Corvette buyers did just that, and I wonder if many of them regretted the move? Seeing this big block Vette from 1967 got me thinking about that. The bright white accent with a red "Stinger" and matching interior is a very handsome…

Pick of the Day: 1969 Pontiac GTO
Pontiac GTO was the king of muscle cars, creating the template for the market and becoming the best-selling model for the better part of a decade. However, by 1969, the market was different and the GTO was no longer the top seller in the segment. Our Daily Pick is one of those fallen goats, a 1969 Pontiac GTO listed on ClassicCars.com for sale by a dealer in Volo, Illinois. (Click this link to view the list) In terms of sales, the Pontiac GTO's best model year was 1966, a time when sales of other models on the market were growing rapidly: a staggering 96,946 cars were produced. This was a record that no other car in the segment could come close to at the time. The second-best model year was 1968 with 87,685 units sold, which is impressive considering the segment is more crowded and many competing models are also having their best sales years. But then along came the…
AutoHunter Spotlight: 1979 Ford Mustang Convertible
Now on Auto Hunter It's this 1979 Ford Mustang convertible with 30,108 miles. Of course, the Mustang convertible didn't officially return until 1984, but during those lean years some enterprising companies converted the cars into convertibles. This Mustang is powered by a 2.8-liter V6 engine paired with a SelectShift automatic transmission. Other features include air conditioning, AM/FM stereo, spaced windshield wipers, full gauges and styled steel wheels. Painted white with black top, red cloth and vinyl interior, this Fox-bodied pony car comes with an owner's manual, spare key and clear title from the selling dealer. Other exterior features include dual side mirrors, a non-functional hood scoop and black side trim. A set of 14-inch style steel wheels with decorative rings are wrapped in 185/75 General whitewall radial tires. Red interior with…
Interesting Find: 1969 Camaro Z/28
regardless There is no doubt that the 1969 Chevrolet Camaro Z/28 is one of the most famous muscle cars of its era. It's far from the fastest car around, and maybe you think some cars look better, but few muscle cars are more desirable than the Camaro Z/28. Over 20,000 Z/28s were produced in 1969, light years ahead of any other solid-lift car of the time. As part of the pony car class, the Camaro comes with a long list of options, with performance options like the transmission and transmission at the top, along with exterior options like rally sports, houndstooth interior, woodgrain trim, and more. Among the options that set a Camaro apart, two resonate: four-wheel disc brakes and dual four-wheel drive. The former is rare in American cars, with only the Corvette having it (also standard!), but it was a new option on the 1969 Camaro. It's also very expensive at over $500, which is why only 206…
Strange overseas car sightings
Christmas period Over the holidays, I visited my wife’s family in Colombia. I probably don’t need to say that Colombians drive to a level of incompetence and insanity that we rarely see in the United States, but I will because the things I witness always make my jaw drop to the floor. Their car landscape is also very different from ours, which isn't very popular with car enthusiasts as there are few interesting vehicles. But the good thing about that is I get to see some brands that we don’t have in North America. Renault has a good grip on the Colombian market, although several of the new models appear to be first-world predecessors. Then there's South Korea's Ssangyong, a company that seems to produce some of the most awkwardly styled vehicles in (recent) memory. So, as you can imagine, the Chinese have entered the Colombian market. In fact, the story says that China has increased its investment in electric…
Pick of the Day: 1968 Mercury Cougar GT-E
Gran Turismo is a We often associate this style of car with Europe, but Detroit has dabbled in it occasionally. Many cars these days come with a GT trim level, although it's more of an upgrade from the base vehicle, or a car with sporty styling rather than a true Gran Turismo. Our daily pick is a car that I respectfully submit as one of the first American luxury sports cars of the muscle car era: the 1968 Mercury Cougar GT-E. It is listed for sale on ClassicCars.com by a dealer in Grand Rapids, Michigan. (Click this link to view the list) Sure, the Mustang carved out a new segment for itself, but the Mercury Cougar answered the question of whether Americans were interested in an upscale pony car. Ford Motor Company was so far ahead that when the first Mustang competitor came on the market, the Cougar managed to appear on the market. The Cougar originally came in just…
Diego’s AutoHunter Picks | ClassicCars.com Magazine
Today is wild horse day on our online auction site, AutoHunter, so I might as well select a few as my AutoHunter picks (Boss 302 fans, check out the old and modern versions not recommended here). Some might call them "belly button" cars, but it's easy to find a Mustang that's slightly different from the rest - the Mach I below, for example, is painted in a rare color. Perhaps red or Grabber blue are more in keeping with the style of a performance vehicle, but collectors may appreciate this hue more than the 1970s sensibilities suggest. Do you want a pop of color? Let us know in the comments below. 1970 Mustang Mach IThe Mustang Mach I was Ford's image car, but in standard configuration, the two-cylinder 351 was nothing to write home about. Climb the ladder and assign M code 351, now you're ready to start a muscle car. This 1970 Mustang Mach I has a nice color…
The Last Ford Falcon | ClassicCars.com Magazine
There seems to be There's a lot of confusion about the last Ford Falcon to appear in the United States. As you know, the Ford Falcon was a compact car produced from 1960-70 before the Maverick replaced Ford's compact cars. Ford then applied the "Falcon" name to a midsize model that was only on the market for eight months. 1970 1/2 Ford Falcon Coupe (Photo courtesy of Ford Motor Company) The Falcon was one of three compact cars launched in 1960 by the Big Three, which included Plymouth's Valiant and Chevrolet Corvair. As the most traditional of the series, The Falcon is also the most successful. Such humble beginnings eventually led to many sporty features such as bucket seats and consoles, and the platform underpinned the first pony car, the Mustang. A 1966 redesign lost much of the sportiness the Falcon had, and changes in safety regulations also contributed to its demise. Ford felt the need to launch an all-new…

Our daily pick might answer that question: a 1970 Lincoln Continental Coupe. It is listed for sale on ClassicCars.com by a dealer in Lakeland, Florida. (Click this link to view the list) Of course, the elegantly designed and perfectly designed wheel belongs to the 1961 Lincoln Continental. Following the overstyled Lincoln and Continental Mark lines of 1958-60, the 1961 Continental was the complete opposite: clean flanks, sober styling and suicide doors. Elwood Engel is the designer credited with this, although the design he submitted was originally a proposal for the 1961 Thunderbird. It might sound interesting to hear that a 1961 car was downsized, but this Lincoln used an elongated Thunderbird unibody platform with a wheelbase of 123 inches (a decrease of 8 inches) and a length of just over 212 inches (a…

Pick of the Day: 1956 DeSoto Adventurer
After successful marketing 1955 Chrysler C-300 Other Chrysler Corporation brands also brought their performance cars to the auction. DeSoto, who sat one step below Chrysler, converted a 1956 Fireflite Sportsman into gold, injected a bit of horsepower and called it the "Adventurer." One of these rare Mopars is our daily pick. It is listed for sale on ClassicCars.com by a dealer in Conroe, Texas. (Click this link to view the list) Chrysler's 1955 C-300 was an earth-shattering combination of rugged good looks and horsepower. Three hundred horses were big news in 1955, giving the Mopar speeds few had experienced at the time. While other cars may have decent horsepower, they include optional engines in any available model. What Chrysler did with the C-300 was create a special model wrapped in a performance package. The formula (most famously used by Pontiac when creating the GTO in 1964) was applied to several other Mopar brands in 1956. Plymouth introduced the Fury, a…
Say no to Honda-Nissan merger
any car enthusiast News emerged a few weeks ago that Nissan and Honda would integrate their operations, assuming the memorandum of understanding goes as planned. In perhaps the biggest automotive news since the multiple restructurings triggered by the global recession in 2009 (sorry, Stellantis, you yawned), the two Japanese automakers hope to share resources to fight off China and the likes of Tesla, The two companies are leaders in electric vehicles and software. The merger would make the new entity the world's third-largest auto group by sales after Toyota and Volkswagen (GM, oh my God, you fell!). And - get this - by the end of this month, we'll find out whether Mitsubishi Motors will be on board. It's not all touchy-feely, however, as all three companies have a history of wasting opportunities when times were good. We can't let companies with a history of screwing up good things join forces and compound the same behavior, right? Down with these…
