Mustang has always been Known for its fun factor. Back in 1999, Ford’s marketing team portrayed an image of a young woman about to take her driving test. Her coach was none other than NASCAR driver Rusty Wallace, who at the time was 44 and still winning trophies. After a series of performance maneuvers on the track, the Mustang slid into position between the two cars. “Parallel park—check,” Rusty announced.
Featured on AutoHunter is this 1999 Ford Mustang GT with 10K miles on it. The car is being sold by a dealer in Paris, Ky., and the auction will end Thursday.
The 1994 Mustang, known internally as the “SN95,” is the fourth generation of Ford’s popular pony car. Under its skin, the SN95 shares some components with the previous generation of the upcoming Fox platform. The Mustang was named Motor Trend’s Car of the Year upon its introduction, and Ford sold about 10,000 more Mustangs in 1994 than in 1993, so the market welcomed the car with open arms (and checkbooks).
For 1999, the Mustang’s styling was revamped, with creased, tough lines replacing the previous rounded shape. The GT was a higher-performance, better-handling model with a 4.6-liter V8 engine; the 1999 GT was rated at 260 horsepower and 302 pound-feet of torque.
Even after 25 years on the road, the car has only accumulated 10,306 miles on the odometer. The CARFAX report backing up the mileage reading is short and sweet, showing no accidents in Kentucky since new.
The car is finished in (aptly named) Performance Red over Midnight Black and Silver leather interior. It also has the option of “35th It has “Anniversary” livery both inside and out. The package includes a body-color hood scoop, a rear spoiler, rocker moldings, a black hood decal, fender badges, a special instrument panel and embroidered floor mats.
The vehicle also contains numerous collectible materials including the original window sticker, two key fobs, a 35th Anniversary cap and owner’s manual. The solid combination of extremely low mileage readings, accident-free history, special edition configuration, and all supporting documentation make this 1999 GT a go-to car for any Mustang collector or enthusiast.
The magazine ad is similar to the Mustang GT from 30 years ago, saying: “In the 1999 Mustang GT, all 260 horses are mounted to a 3.27:1 rear axle, pouring every ounce of power and torque directly to the pavement. . The same rebellious spirit, but now with advanced firepower.”
The auction for this 10,000 mile 1999 Ford Mustang GT will end on Thursday, October 17, 2024 at 11:30 AM PDT.
