BMW Motorrad will announce the price of the latest R 1300 GS Adventure at the upcoming Bharat Mobility Expo 2025. Ahead of its official launch, the bike maker has given us a glimpse of the new model through official teaser images. When introduced in the Indian market, the R 1300 GS Adventure will be positioned as a more premium offering than the standard R 1300 GS, which is priced at Rs 21.20 lakh ex-showroom. The BMW R 1300 GS Adventure is available globally in four variants: Style Triple Black, Style GS Trophy, Basic and Option 719 Karakorum. At 269 kg, the GSA is 32 kg heavier than the standard R 1300 GS and only 1 kg heavier than its predecessor, the R 1250 GSA. Upon launch, the base version of the GS Adventure is likely to be priced at Rs 25 lakh (ex-showroom).
BMW R 1300 GS Adventure: Design
One of the most striking updates to the R 1300 GSA is its more angular and sturdy design, highlighted by a larger 30-liter fuel tank. This redesigned tank not only offers a greater capacity, but also features an updated shape with a non-slip rubber surface on a flatter upper section. While the standard model’s signature X-shaped LED headlights are retained, the GSA’s front end has been significantly enlarged and redefined. For enhanced lighting, an optional upgrade offers Lean Sensitive Adaptive Headlights as well as two auxiliary lights exclusive to GSA.
The motorcycle comes standard with a taller windshield, with an electrically adjustable version available as an option. The space above the headlights accommodates the optional forward-facing radar system that powers adaptive cruise control and forward-collision warning features. In addition, the rear-facing radar system also supports an optional lane change warning function.

Storage options include pre-installed luggage mounting points, such as the 12-litre BMW Motorrad Auxiliary Tank Bag. Riders can further enhance its storage capacity with optional accessories, including two aluminum suitcases with a total capacity of 73.5 liters and a 37-litre aluminum top box, ensuring plenty of space for long journeys.
BMW R 1300 GS Adventure: engine specifications
The BMW R 1300 GS Adventure is powered by the same 1,300cc boxer twin engine as the standard model, delivering an impressive 143bhp at 7,750rpm and a peak torque of 149Nm at 6,500rpm. For the first time, BMW has integrated a six-speed gearbox beneath the engine of the R 1300 GS. However, Adventure models go a step further and offer optional Automatic Shift Assist (ASA), essentially BMW’s semi-automatic transmission system.
ASA offers autonomous (D) and manual (M) modes. In Drive mode, the system automatically selects shift points based on factors such as lean angle, riding mode, throttle input and engine speed. Manual mode, on the other hand, retains the traditional shifting experience via a foot lever. Notably, even in Drive mode, the rider can manually override the system and shift gears as needed, blending convenience with control.
BMW R 1300 GS Adventure: Hardware and features
The chassis integrates aluminum tubes and a forged lattice back frame, with a sheet metal shell main frame. The R 1300 GS Adventure is also equipped with EVO Paralever rear suspension, EVO Telelever front suspension and BMW’s latest electronic dynamic suspension adjustment system. This advanced suspension system dynamically adjusts front and rear spring rates and damping.

The bike comes standard with cross-spoke aluminum wheels, but riders can opt for lightweight enduro forged wheels that save nearly 2kg of weight. Wheel sizes remain the same as the standard GS, with 19-inch front wheels and 17-inch rear wheels. Braking is handled by twin 310mm discs with four-piston radially mounted calipers at the front and a single 285mm disc with two-piston floating calipers at the rear.
The new GS Adventure comes with an impressive range of features. All four models come with four riding modes and advanced tilt-sensitive riding aids including engine brake control, hill hold assist and cornering ABS. For those who want to tackle extreme off-road conditions, there is also an Enduro mode. A suite of advanced electronics and features are available across the range, including options such as adaptive cruise control, Pro-Ride mode, electronic suspension and adjustable ride height.
