CompuSystems announces plans to be acquired by WiSA

CHICAGO — It may be a new year, but acquisitions are still hot in the trade show and events industry. CompuSystems announced on January 8 that it plans to be acquired by WiSA Technologies, bringing new technologies, resources and opportunities to CompuSystems’ customers.

The planned acquisition is announced in conjunction with WiSA’s recently completed purchases of ADIO® IP, Datavault® and other patents and applications using Web 3.0 and blockchain. This gives CompuSystems access to additional resources under the auspices of publicly traded WiSA and allows the company to explore market entry and growth potential outside of the events industry.

This is expected to enable CompuSystems to leverage WiSA’s data analytics expertise and technology to further enhance CompuSystems’ platform and products, thereby accelerating innovation. Integrating CompuSystems’ platform with WiSA’s Datavault® and ADIO® technologies provides organizers, exhibitors and attendees with advanced data insights, proximate attendee targeting and enhanced tools.

CompuSystems will operate as a division of WiSA, and its leadership team and staff, as well as day-to-day operations, will remain unchanged to ensure continuity.

The combined organization will help create new revenue streams for trade show and event organizers through enhanced attendee experience, sponsorship engagement opportunities and data monetization.

Prior to this transaction, CompuSystems announced in December 2024 that it had signed an agreement to acquire EventsPass.

Together we are laying the foundation for smarter, more impactful events that benefit all stakeholders in the industry.”

The acquisition is expected to close in late January 2025, and CSI said senior management will contact customers to discuss the transition and updates will be shared across industry channels in the coming weeks.
