Creta, Exter, Venue, etc. help Modern India Post grow 2% year-on-year

Hyundai Motor India Ltd’s (HMIL) sales grew 2% year-on-year in October 2024, mainly due to the strong performance of models such as Creta. The company sold 70,078 units in October 2024 as compared to 68,728 units sold in the same month last year. This growth highlights the brand’s ability to adapt to consumer preferences and remain competitive in the Indian automotive market. Creta continues to lead the compact SUV segment, while Exter and Venue attract buyers with their modern features and design. This growth puts Hyundai in a strong position as it continues to meet the needs of Indian drivers in an ever-changing environment.

Hyundai Motor Sales Data: October 2024

The South Korean automaker sold more than 70,078 units, including 55,568 units in the domestic market and 14,510 units in exports. The company highlighted that this sales volume is the third highest monthly figure domestically and overall since opening.

Last month, Hyundai Motor’s domestic sales totaled 55,568 units, a slight increase of 0.8% from October last year. Export volume reached 14,510 vehicles, an increase of 8.6% from 13,600 vehicles in the same month last year. It is worth noting that monthly SUV sales hit a record high of 37,902 units, of which Hyundai Creta contributed 17,497 units. In addition, CNG sales also hit a record high, with 8,261 units sold, accounting for 14.9% of total domestic sales.

Looking at the year-to-date (YTD) performance from January to October 2024, total sales increased by 6% year-on-year to approximately 648,000 vehicles. Domestic sales increased by 1.1% to 515,000 vehicles, and exports increased significantly by 26.6%, totaling approximately 133,000 vehicles.

Talking about the company’s latest sales performance, Tarun Garg, whole-time director and chief operating officer, HMIL said, “During the festive season, we witnessed strong demand for our SUV portfolio, resulting in monthly sales of our SUVs Hitting a record high of 37,902 units, Hyundai Creta’s domestic monthly sales hit a record high of 17,497 units. SUVs remain the cornerstone of our product line, accounting for an impressive 68.2% of our total monthly sales in October 2024, Penetration is similar in urban and rural markets. This strong demand underlines the broad appeal of our SUV range and our commitment to delivering quality and performance to all customers. We continue to increase the penetration of CNG, HMIL’s innovative Hy-CNG. Technology helped us achieve our highest ever CNG sales of 8,261 units, thereby contributing 14.9% to domestic sales in October 2024. We wish all our customers a happy holiday.
