Driver pulls over suspected drunk driver and calls police; guess who gets beaten for drunk driving?
  • A person tried to pull over a driver they thought was drunk on New Year’s Eve.
  • When police arrived, they discovered that the allegedly drunk driver was actually completely sober.
  • The driver who stopped them turned out to be a drunk driver.

Some people live by the adage “when you see something, say something.” Others, however, go even further than simply speaking out. They take action to stop any problems they find. In this story, the people who stepped up to help the community ended up being the ones who made the mistake from the start.

This is what the Royal Canadian Mounted Police have to say about an incident that occurred on December 31, 2024. Apparently, one driver reported another driver they suspected was drunk. In an effort to end the potential threat to the public, the same caller found a way to pull over an allegedly drunk driver. That’s when things came to pass interesting Weird.

According to RCMP, they arrived on scene and made contact with both drivers. People who appear drunk are actually sober. Their underlying wrongdoing was allegedly simply the result of their struggles with nighttime driving. However, to the police’s surprise, the person who reported and stopped the other driver was actually drunk.

“When officers arrived, they smelled the odor of alcohol on the second driver’s breath and administered a roadside alcohol screening test, which the driver failed. The driver immediately failed,” RCMP wrote in a report. Received a 90-day driving ban and the vehicle was impounded for 30 days. “

“Unfortunately, there are a lot of people who still think it’s OK to drink and drive,” said Sergeant Shane Worth of the Oceanside RCMP. “Drink driving is a crime that is dangerous for everyone who uses the roads and our officers are targeting drink drivers every day of the year to get them off the streets.”

Vos said that was partly because they also took other injured drivers off the road that night. One person failed an alcohol screening test and another refused to take the test in the first place. Either way, drinking and driving is obviously very dangerous for yourself and others. Sometimes, like the above incident, it can lead to harmless but still stupid behavior that can get you into trouble.
