When you’re an automaker This has been around for over a century, you don’t just sell new cars. You can also sell your past to those who miss it. Buyers of the 2025 Ford Bronco who want to add some retro flair to their rig can freshen it up with the Free Wheeling appearance package.
According to Ford, “Free Wheeling kits were available on Ford F-100, F-150, Bronco, and Econoline vans from the late 1970s to early 1980s and added graphics, paint, and paint with red, orange, and yellow gradients. Steel wheels and black finish on the grille, mirrors and bumpers. Inside, there’s red and orange pin striping on the dashboard and seat stitching. A look at the 1978 Free Wheeling vehicle lineup reveals that. The package adds orange/tan/cream or blue/white/green tape stripes (depending on basecoat color), black bumpers, low-mounted mirrors, a sport steering wheel, and the Bronco’s tires with raised white lettering Steel wheels.
The latest version of the Free Wheeling package has a “sunset-inspired beach vibe” and is available on Bronco Big Bend models with or without the Sasquatch package. Exterior changes include reflective red, orange and yellow graphics on the sides, silver door handles, a signature silver grille with white “BRONCO” lettering outlined in red, and glossy black 17-inch steel wheels; also available on Sasquatch-equipped Broncos Similar wheels have their machined lips filled with red. Ford uses a similar color treatment for its marine-grade vinyl and fabric seats.
Currently, you can get the Free Wheeling package on the 2024 Bronco Sport, but if you only want it on the 2025 “big” Bronco, you’ll have to wait until next January. Hey, if you’ve been waiting for the return of this unique cosmetic product for over 40 years, how many more months are you waiting?
