G80 sedan is fourth Genesis model to get black trim

- The Genesis G80 Black trim ditches the shiny chrome components for a more stealthy look.
- Even the smallest details on the exterior and interior have been painted black.
- The model is already available in South Korea and will be launched in Australia later this year.
Genesis has launched the G80 Black in South Korea, joining a range of dark-themed models including the G90 sedan, GV80 and GV80 Coupe SUV.
The exterior of the Genesis G80 Black lives up to its name, with an eye-catching all-black finish. All chrome elements, including the grille, air intakes, badging and bumper inserts, have been carefully blacked out. Finer details such as the inner bezel of the lighting unit and the ADAS radome are also treated in black.
Review: 2025 Genesis G80 feels like a cheat code in the luxury sedan game
The car rides on 20-inch glossy black alloy wheels with floating center caps, reminiscent of a Rolls-Royce. The only deviation from the black theme is the dark gray Genesis lettering on the tailgate.
Inside, the commitment to black continues and is all-encompassing. The switchgear, paddle shifters, door sills, speakers, badges and high-quality quilted leather seats are finished in black. The dashboard, center console and door cards feature solid black ash wood inserts. Finally, a 27-inch digital cockpit was added to the G80 as part of a mid-life update, featuring unique welcome and goodbye animations.
The Genesis G80 Black is launched in South Korea with a choice of two petrol powertrains. The turbocharged 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine produces 300 hp (224 kW / 304 PS), while the more powerful 3.5-liter turbo V6 produces 375 hp (280 kW / 380 PS). In both cases, power is sent to all four wheels via an eight-speed automatic transmission.
Currently, there’s no information on whether the Black Edition treatment will extend to the all-electric G80 Electrified.
The Genesis G80 Black has started selling in its home market of South Korea, with prices starting at 82,750,000 won (US$56,700). An Australian launch is also confirmed for later in 2025, marking the first black version of the Genesis to be available in Australia.
