Honda and Sony’s Afeela 1 EV prices announced at CES 2025;

Afeela 1 EV is a product of a collaboration between Sony Group Corporation and Honda Motor Company and has been mass-produced at CES 2025. The electric car starts at $89,900 (approximately Rs. 77,000) and is now available for booking in California for a nominal amount of $200 (approximately Rs. 17,169). The Afeela 1 EV will be produced in Ohio and will be available first in California. Deliveries are expected to begin in the middle of next year.

Afeela 1 EV is available in two variants – Origin and Signature, with the latter priced at $102,900 (approximately Rs. 88 lakh). This range-topping model adds premium features including innovative C-CMS (Central Camera Monitoring System), 21-inch wheels and a rear entertainment system. Additionally, customers who purchase Afeela 1 will receive a 3-year free subscription.

The Afeela 1 EV exudes a sleek, futuristic vibe and features progressive design elements, including the elimination of physical door handles – a trend that is becoming increasingly popular in the modern electric vehicle world. To unlock the car, users simply use the Afeela app on their phone or tap their phone on the door for seamless access. The interior of the cabin creates a premium and sustainable ambience, with around 70% of the interior surface area made up of plant-derived and recycled materials. In addition, Afeela 1 is equipped with a 3D motion management system that integrates motor, braking and suspension control to ensure an optimized and smooth ride experience for ultimate comfort.

One of the standout features of the Afeela 1 is its full panoramic touchscreen display that covers the entire dashboard. Ambient lighting on the door trim and OLED screens mounted on the back of each seat further enhance the cabin’s high-tech ambience. For entertainment, Afeela 1 comes with a PlayStation 5 controller, an optimized sound system and a seat-mounted monitor. The electric vehicle is also equipped with Afeela Personal Agent, an interactive system that allows users to control in-car functions through natural voice commands.

The Afeela 1 has a 91kWh battery pack and is said to have a range of 483 kilometers on a single charge. It features a dual-motor setup with a total output of 480bhp and supports 150kW charging. Sony Honda Mobility also ensures compatibility with Tesla’s extensive Supercharging network.

Afeela 1 is equipped with a complete set of advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) driven by 40 sensors and an ECU with a computing power of up to 800 Tops.
