Hyundai Creta EV spy shots from Hyderabad reveal key design features – expected to be launched later this year or early next year
Hyundai’s much-anticipated Creta EV has been spotted testing in Hyderabad, further increasing the excitement over the SUV’s imminent launch. These latest spy shots give us a glimpse into the design and aerodynamic improvements to the electric version of Hyundai’s best-selling SUV. Expected to be launched later this year or early 2025, the Creta EV is set to set new standards in the compact electric SUV segment.
Hyundai Creta EV – Core design and aerodynamics
Although the Creta EV is heavily camouflaged, its overall appearance remains the same as the ICE model. EV-specific design elements are expected to include a front charging port and newly designed aerospace alloy wheels. These wheels are essential to reduce the SUV’s drag coefficient, increase the range, and provide a unique visual appeal. The rear of the Creta EV is likely to feature connected LED taillights, adding to the futuristic design.

The test mule shot in Hyderabad is heavily camouflaged, but the core body structure remains true to the Creta’s signature SUV styling. The front and rear lighting elements are mostly obscured, but the horizontal LED positioning lights and sequential turn indicators can be seen through the camouflage. Also, the hood maintains a chiseled design, enhancing the Creta’s sporty appeal.
The spy photos also hint that Hyundai will bring most of the design elements of the facelifted ICE Creta to the EV version. The front is expected to feature EV-specific trims to differentiate it from the petrol and diesel versions. The latest spy photos come from car enthusiast Nizam.

Interior and Technology
Although no interior photos are provided in this batch of spy photos, the Creta EV is expected to borrow several high-tech features from other Hyundai electric models, including the Ioniq 5. Speculated features include a 4-point steering wheel, dual-screen infotainment and instrument cluster, voice-activated panoramic sunroof, and front ventilated seats. In addition, the Creta EV may be equipped with ADAS technology, as seen in earlier spy photos, with a radar module mounted on the bumper.

Performance Expectations
The Hyundai Creta EV is expected to be equipped with a 45 kWh battery pack, which will give it a range of about 450 km on a single charge. The electric motor will deliver about 138 horsepower and 255 Nm of torque, which is in line with the performance specifications of Hyundai’s current electric vehicles, such as the new-generation Kona. The Creta EV will also be equipped with an advanced regenerative braking system to help improve range and efficiency.
The Creta EV is expected to be launched in India soon and Hyundai is all set to take on rivals like the Tata Curvv and MG Windsor in the electric vehicle market. It will also compete with upcoming electric SUVs like the Mahindra BE.05 and Maruti eVX. Hyundai’s decision to build the Creta EV on the same platform as the ICE Creta is likely to help the automaker maintain competitive pricing, making it a viable option for EV buyers looking for range, performance, and brand reliability.
