MG’s first electric sports car, Cyberster, is confirmed to be launched in India in January 2025. It will be sold through JSW MG Motor India’s new retail channel MG Select, making it the first premium MG to do so. The first MG Select car is built on a pure electric platform and has been launched in European markets such as Italy and the United Kingdom.
Revealed recently through an official video clip, the India-spec electric two-door sports car features a modern design that includes a unique low nose, stylish LED headlights (with daytime running lights), contoured bonnet and front split Air intake. The tail has graceful curves, arrow-shaped taillights, rough side lines and sharp edges, and is matched with diamond-cut alloy wheels. The final highlight is the power-operated scissor doors, which allow owners to access the driver-focused cabin.
The scissor doors are a novel feature that can be opened and closed in five seconds via a single-touch button on the center console and key fob. They feature built-in dual radar sensors to ensure protection when opened upwards or sideways. There is also an anti-pinch rebound feature for added safety. In terms of body size, the length, width and height of the new car are 4,533mm, 1,912mm, and 1,328mm respectively, and the wheelbase is 2,689mm.
