Soon, Kia India will launch Syros, offering a unique blend of design and features – later, we also expect Carens facelift and Carens EV
Kia, one of India’s leading premium carmakers, has just announced a price hike for its existing product line-up. This is a trend that almost all car manufacturers in India are currently following. Kia’s updated prices will be effective from January 1, 2025, based on current prices.
Kia price hike in India
The Indian market has been growing and Kia has a good setup here. The product lineup starts with the Sonet sub 4m SUV, followed by the Seltos compact SUV, Carens premium MPV, EV6 electric crossover SUV, Carnival luxury minivan, and finally the EV9 electric flagship SUV.
Kia India said prices across its product portfolio will increase by 2 per cent. Specific price increases for the company’s locally manufactured and imported vehicles (EV6 and EV9) will be announced in early 2025. Most of Kia’s rivals are also implementing price increases. It remains to be seen how buyers will react to this price increase.
The company said rising input costs, higher commodity prices and unfavorable exchange rates were the main reasons for the price increase. Kia India promises that they will absorb most of the cost increase, minimizing the financial impact on buyers. Just transfer part of it to the buyer.

Statement from Kia India
Commenting on the price adjustment, Mr. Hardeep Singh Brar, Senior Vice President, Sales and Marketing, Kia India, said, “At Kia, we are committed to delivering superior, technologically advanced vehicles of the highest quality to our valued customers.
However, as commodity prices continue to rise, exchange rates are unfavorable, and input costs increase, necessary price adjustments are inevitable. Despite these challenges, Kia is absorbing a significant portion of the cost increase, minimizing the financial impact on customers so they can continue to enjoy their favorite Kia vehicles without taking a significant hit to their pockets. “
Kia’s upcoming vehicles
While Kia India’s product portfolio is already quite strong, there is always room for improvement. Kia is committed to continuously expanding its market and is preparing to launch the uniquely styled Syros crossover SUV. It will also come with plenty of features and creature comforts.

Another model launched in India is the Carens facelift and its electric version. The Carens facelift will bring significant improvements in functionality. Expected add-ons include a panoramic sunroof and Level 2 ADAS. The Carens EV is expected to feature a similar powertrain to the upcoming Hyundai Creta EV and will be Kia’s first electric offering in this size and price range.
