Mitsubishi Triton Tuning Contest includes all of the following

The official competition is organized by Mitsubishi Japan, and local tuners are accepted to participate.

Mitsubishi organized a fun truck tuning competition in Japan, calling on local parts manufacturers and tuning shops to build the ultimate version of the Triton. The winning entries from the 16 modified pickup trucks will be displayed at the 2025 Tokyo Auto Salon.

All custom Tritons will be on display at Let’s Go 4WD Fest 2024 on November 10, 2024, with some companies having more than one entry. Since the launch of the current generation in July 2023, Mitsubishi has emphasized the modification potential of the mid-size pickup truck.

Starting with the sporty trucks, Kuhl Japan’s black Triton and SPD Creation’s white Triton both embody the low-slung aesthetic. Both models feature suspension, large-diameter alloy wheels and low-profile tires, as well as bespoke body kits with bold aerodynamic elements.

However, it’s worth noting that both tuners also show off high-riding versions for those who don’t want to compromise the truck’s off-road capabilities. In fact, most entries focused on enhancing the Triton’s adventurous spirit with upgraded suspension, grippier tires, underbody protection and a variety of off-road accessories.

Some of the toughest Tritons come from JAOS, M-Climb, Colt Speed ​​and Brainstorm. In addition, Flags created two land-based buildings that provide sports equipment storage solutions.

Another popular theme that several modders are exploring is truck campers. Flex Dreams convert the rear bed into a sleeping area and feature a retractable roof section that extends above the cabin to provide extra space. Likewise, MDF Equipment chose a large rooftop tent with an integrated ladder and large awning for added convenience. The latter also gets a striking body kit from Thailand that blends rugged off-road elements with sporty styling.

Mitsubishi said the grand prize and excellence award winners will be determined based on the results of online voting open from November 11 to 24. In addition, the company will present two other special awards to brand ambassador Mr. Hiromi and local automotive journalist Kei Takeoka.
