- Dodge is preparing to launch the all-new Attitude in Mexico.
- Its predecessor was a renamed Mitsubishi Mirage, while the latest model is Dodge’s version of the GAC/Trumpchi Empow.
- The car will be unveiled soon and may be equipped with a 1.5-liter engine with 168 horsepower.
Dodge’s Mexican lineup feels like it was ripped out of an alternate reality, as their best-selling model is an import from China, followed closely by a rebadged Mitsubishi Mirage known as the Attitude. However, since the Mirage’s days were numbered, something had to change.
var adpushup = window.adpushup = window.adpushup || {que:()}; adpushup.que.push(function() { if (adpushup.config.platform !== “DESKTOP”){ adpushup.triggerAd(“4d84e4c9 -9937-4f84-82c0-c94544ee6f2a”); } else{ adpushup.triggerAd(“6a782b01-facb-45f3-a88f-ddf1b1f97657”); } });
The 2025 Attitude finally lives up to its name thanks to its radical design. As you can see in the teaser images, the model looks like a modern Mitsubishi Lancer as it features a familiar front end with slim headlights and a large grille with black horizontal bars. They are connected by a beefy air intake and an offset Dodge badge.

While the design looks nearly 20 years old, this is no Mitsubishi. Quite the contrary, as photos from south of the border show that the Dodge is actually a rebranded GAC/Trumpchi Empow. This shouldn’t be too surprising, as the Mexican Journey is the Dodge version of the GAC/Trumpchi GS5.

Dodge isn’t revealing much information at this point, but the Empow is equipped with LED headlights and 16- to 18-inch alloy wheels. In terms of dimensions, the model is 185 inches (4,700 mm) long and has a wheelbase of 107.7 inches (2,736 mm). This means the car is slightly larger than the ill-fated Dart, which was 183.9 inches (4,672 mm) long and had a wheelbase of 106.4 inches (2,703 mm).
Inside, we can see a 7-inch digital instrument cluster and a 10.25-inch infotainment system. There should also be a range of available driver assistance systems, including adaptive cruise control, automatic emergency braking, and traffic jam assist. They should be combined with high-beam assist, lane departure warning, forward collision warning, and traffic sign recognition technology.
The Empow is equipped with a 1.5-liter engine with 168 hp (125 kW / 170 PS) and 199 lb-ft (270 Nm) of torque. This engine will probably be carried over to the Dodge and paired with a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission.
