Nissan Magnite facelift to feature cosmetic improvements and new features

The Nissan Magnite facelift will be launched during the festive season on October 4. A few weeks before its launch, the compact SUV was spotted testing in camouflage, hinting at the exterior changes to the car.

The front profile is expected to feature revised headlamps with new daytime running lights. The grille design will be tweaked to give it a more fresh look. The front and rear bumpers will also receive some changes. There will be new alloy wheel designs with a dual-tone look. The side profile will remain largely the same and we don’t expect any changes. The rear profile is likely to feature a new set of tail lamps with new detailing.

Inside, the dashboard will remain the same but we can expect some changes like new hues, new steering wheel, updated touchscreen infotainment system with new UI, new digital instrument cluster interface, etc.

The upgraded version is also expected to come with other safety features such as six airbags. We don’t expect Nissan to offer ADAS in this facelift.

Under the hood, the Magnite facelift is expected to carry over the existing powertrain options. The 1.0-litre naturally aspirated three-cylinder engine that produces 71 BHP and 96 Nm of torque is likely to continue to be offered alongside a more powerful turbocharged version. The turbo-petrol version delivers 99 BHP and 160 Nm of torque and is available with either a five-speed manual gearbox or a CVT automatic gearbox. The naturally aspirated version is likely to continue to be paired with a five-speed manual or an AMT.

We can expect Nissan to price it aggressively as the Magnite will continue to compete with established rivals including the Maruti Brezza, Hyundai Venue, Kia Sonet, Tata Nexon and Mahindra XUV 3XO.
