  • Nissan is preparing to showcase a variety of different vehicles at the 2025 Tokyo Auto Salon.
  • The star product is the R32 EV, an electric model that appears to have a dual-motor all-wheel drive system.
  • The company will also show off some X-Trail concepts as well as Autech versions of the Aura and Serena.

The Detroit Auto Show returns in January, but it’s not the only event next month as there’s also CES and the Tokyo Auto Salon. Today we’re focusing on the latter, as Nissan has revealed their lineup of modifications.

The star of the show is undoubtedly the R32 Skyline GT-R converted into an electric car. The project was launched in March 2023 and has attracted much attention on Japanese social media over the past year.

Nissan hasn’t said much about it, but workers carefully disassembled the interior, took detailed measurements, and then removed the twin-turbo engine and suspension. The battery was then carefully inserted into the car and connected to two devices that appeared to be electric motors.

In addition to the electric modifications, Nissan will also display two X-Trail concept vehicles. The first is called Unwind, and it’s based on the latest version of the crossover. It features custom paint, extended fenders, and a unique trailer. The combination promises to create a “seamless space that transcends the boundaries between indoors and outdoors, perfect for enjoying luxurious moments like authentic espresso.”

The X-Trail Remastered is similar in concept but based on the previous generation crossover. Nissan says it provides the perfect environment for enjoying “analog records.”

Speaking of concepts, there will be a disaster-supported version of Caravan. It will feature Leaf batteries and solar panels. This will enable the vehicle to help support rescue operations for days at a time.

Visitors can also check out Autech’s versions of the Aura and Serena. Both get sporty body kits, revised suspension and retuned steering.

After the highlights, Nissan will also showcase the Ariya Nismo, Fairlady Z and GT-R Nismo special editions. A Motul Autech Z race car will join them in the Super GT series.
