Looking for a classic truck Lugging all your holiday gifts around? Whether you’re shopping for a TV, home decor, shop tools or a new propane grille, this Ford F-Series has what you need.

The Pick of the Day is a 1956 Ford F-100 pickup truck for sale on ClassicCars.com by a private seller in Newport Beach, California. (Click the link to see the list.)

“Original restoration in 2022 with 625 miles,” the listing reads. “Really clean and runs great.”

The truck’s monochromatic red paint treatment extends to the running boards and even the steel wheels. The seller says the oak bed was replaced during the restoration; stainless steel hardware holds everything together. The second generation of the F-Series spanned 1953 to 1956. For the final model year, the design received some updates, such as vertical A-pillars, a wraparound windshield, and a new grille.

The interior features tan vinyl bench seats, black carpet, and a body-color dash. Replacement carpets, headliner, door panels and seat belts were installed. For maximum cabin comfort, a Vintage Air air conditioning system was added.

Ford promoted its 1956 truck by emphasizing three main advantages: more power, improved safety and greater payload. The company also mentioned how cost-effective they are to own and maintain compared to other brands of pickup trucks. “Ford trucks have lower maintenance costs because they are built sturdier and last longer.” Some features that support this claim are:

  • 1.) Short stroke engine design
  • 2.) Bigger brakes than other half-ton trucks
  • 3.) Centrifugal clutch design
  • 4.) Higher front and rear axle capacity compared to competitors

The listing doesn’t list the exact engine specs for this custom truck, but we can tell from the photos that it’s a V8 that has been upgraded with Ford Racing chrome valve covers and an aluminum radiator. According to the seller, the alternator and wiring harness are newer, and torque is sent to the rear wheels through an automatic transmission that’s still under warranty.

No matter how big or small the items on your shopping list are this year, you’ll be glad you have a truck that can take on the hauling duties. This classic Ford would look great with a Christmas tree on the back.

Asking price is $52,000 or best offer.
