Skoda Kylaq gets 10,000 bookings within 10 days of launch

Skoda’s new small SUV Kylaq has received 10,000 orders in just 10 days since it opened for reservations on December 2. Priced between Rs 7.89 lakh and Rs 14.40 lakh, the SUV is available in four variants (Classic, Signature, Signature+ and Prestige) and a range of eye-catching color options (Carbon Steel, Candy White, Olive Gold, Lava Blue, Tornado Red and Brilliant Silver). It is based on the brand’s MQB-A0-IN platform. The Skoda Kylaq will be available and delivered in showrooms from January 27, 2025. It competes with Tata Nexon, Hyundai Venue, Kia Sonet and Mahindra XUV300.

For the uninitiated, Skoda will launch its India-wide ‘Dream Journey’ with Kylaq on December 13, 2024. The three SUVs will travel through 70 cities in 43 days and return on January 25. The west-north route will cover Ahmedabad, Mumbai, Surat, Vadodara and Delhi. The southwest route, on the other hand, will include cities like Mysore, Pune, Kolhapur, Panaji and Hyderabad. In contrast, the third route will explore Nashik, Nagpur and Kolkata.

Skoda Kylaq: engine

Kylaq is equipped with a 1.0-liter TSI engine that outputs 115 hp and 178 Nm of torque, mated to a 6-speed manual or 6-speed automatic transmission. Its top speed can reach 188 km/h, and the acceleration time from 0 to 100 km/h is 10.5 seconds with a manual transmission.

Skoda Kylaq: Design

Kylaq exudes elegance with its piano black butterfly grille, split LED lighting fixtures, slim LED daytime running lights and projector LED headlights. The exterior is further enhanced by 17-inch dual-tone alloy wheels, functional roof rails and eye-catching wraparound LED taillights.

Entering the Kylaq, the first thing that catches your eye is the stylish black and gray interior, with elegant piano black trim on the dashboard and center console. High-end models enhance the luxury feel with premium leatherette seats and a single-pane sunroof. In terms of features, the SUV comes with a 10-inch touchscreen infotainment system, 8-inch digital instrument cluster and wireless connectivity.

The Kylaq offers a host of comfort features, including a premium sound system, keyless entry, ambient lighting, ventilated front seats, adjustable front seats, a cooled glove box and cup holders. These features may vary by model.

Kylaq comes with six airbags, anti-lock brakes, ABS with EBD, traction and stability control, electronic brake distribution, electronic differential lock, three-point seat belts, rollover protection, motor slip regulation, passenger airbag deactivation with, ISOFIX child seat mounts and multi-collision brakes.
