Kia has also recently joined the trend of raising prices next year. Starting in January 2025, prices for all Kia sedans and SUVs will rise by up to 2 percent. The adjustment was attributed to higher commodity prices and higher supply chain expenses. Kia’s decision is in line with similar actions taken by other major automakers. For example, Maruti Suzuki plans to increase prices by up to 4%. In addition, Hyundai Motor also announced that it will increase the prices of its models due to rising input costs, currency fluctuations and increased logistics expenses.
Not only mass market car manufacturers, premium and luxury brands will also increase prices in our market. For example, starting in January, prices for Audi, BMW and Mercedes-Benz models will increase by 3%.

Coming back to Kia, the Korean carmaker has sold over 1.6 million vehicles so far in India and internationally. Seltos became the company’s best-selling model with sales of over 670,000 units. It was accompanied by Sonet (480,000 copies), Carens (214,000 copies) and Carnival (15,000 copies).
Commenting on the price revision, Hardeep Singh Brar, senior vice president, sales and marketing, Kia India, said, “At Kia, we are committed to delivering superior, technologically advanced vehicles of the highest quality to our valued customers.” But as commodity prices continue to rise, , unfavorable exchange rates, increased input costs, necessary price adjustments are inevitable. Despite these challenges, Kia is absorbing a significant portion of the cost increase, minimizing the financial impact on customers so they can continue to enjoy their favorite Kia vehicles without taking a significant hit to their pockets.
