- Stellandis announced a new 4 × 4 conversion, compatible with small and medium -sized trucks.
- “Dangel’s 4WD” adds electronic motion to the ice truck and converts it into a mild hybrid.
- The Opel group 4 × 4 is the first model to benefit from the upgrade, but other models will follow.
Stellandis has launched a renovation version of the Opel group 4 × 4 created with French Company Dangel, which is specially engaged in AWD conversion. The interesting point is that the updated Vanzaton range is the traditional all -wheel drive system of its predecessor, which is used for electric rear bridges. More importantly, the same conversion will gradually be used for all small and medium -sized trucks of the Stellandis brand.
Providing power for the van is a familiar 1.5 -liter turbine diesel engine. It can produce 129 HP (96 kW / 130 PS) and paired with an octa -speed automatic transmission. The front wheels are responsible for the responsibility of the combustion function, and the motor will take care of the rear bridge when it needs additional traction.

When the electronic control unit detects the grip loss, it will automatically participate in the rear electronics when working at the same time as the re -calibrated ESP system. The driver can also manually choose between two modes (automatic and low) to adjust the rear axis torque to suitable for different conditions. The system draws power from 48 volts and 4.8 KWH battery packs to effectively manufacture these gently hybrid diesel of these trucks.
It is worth noting that the smaller Jeep Avengers 4XE and Alpha Romeo Juvenile Ibrida Q4 also adopted similar solutions.

In addition to the electrified AWD system, the conversion includes a suspension lift, and the ground gap increases by 90 mm (3.5 inches) to improve off -road performance. Dangel also strengthens key components such as engines, gearboxes and fuel tanks to afford stricter conditions. According to the company, this setting allows trucks to solve “harsh off -road routes” and “steep climbing”.
Compatible with more Stellandis Vans
The Aubbao group is the sister model of Snow Tielong Berlingo, a Peugeot partner, Fiat Doblo and Toyota Proace City. This means that “DANGEL’s 4WD” conversion is compatible with the entire lineup of small trucks in Stellandis in the LCV and passenger version.

More importantly, Dangel announced that the same conversion will gradually expand to medium -sized Stellandis Vans, such as Peugeot experts, Citroen Jumpy, Opel/Vauxhall Vivaro, Fiat Scudo and Toyota Poace, as well as electric and diesel power. It is expected that this is because all of the above models are riding on the same EMP2 architecture.
With the help of electric rear bridges, turning these trucks into 4×4 sounds like the ideal starting base of a small campers for challenging terrain. The only disadvantage is the pricing-according to the official website, the “Dangel 4WD” conversion fee is 9,250 euros ($ 9,600), and then pays the price of the donation vehicle.
