
Suzuki Motorcycles India Pvt. SMIPL, the two-wheeler unit of Japan’s Suzuki Motor Corporation, has announced its sales results for November 2024. The company’s total sales were 94,370 units, an increase of 8% from 87,096 units in November 2023. In the domestic market, SMIPL sold 78,333 units, an increase of 7% from 73,135 units in the same month last year. Exports increased significantly, up 15%, with exports to the international market reaching 16,037 vehicles, up from 13,961 vehicles in November 2023.

Suzuki GSX-8R: Highlights
In October 2024, the bike maker revived its large bike segment with the launch of the GSX-8R. The new GSX-8R is available in three color options at Suzuki Bike Zone across India: Metallic Matt Sword Silver, Metallic Triton Blue and Metallic Matt Black No. 2.
The GSX-8R is a tribute to the GSX-R series, featuring a full fairing design with vertically aligned LED headlights and single-focus LED lighting. Its bodywork has been engineered to enhance aerodynamics and ensure smoother airflow for better performance. The bike features forged aluminum handlebars and lightweight 17-inch cast aluminum wheels shod with Dunlop RoadSport 2 tires. The headlight housing and windscreen have been redesigned and extensively wind tunnel tested to improve stability at high speeds and reduce wind noise and buffeting. The cowl-mounted rear view mirrors provide improved aerodynamics and wind protection. The stylish rear includes a compact LED combination light and a fender-mounted LED license plate light.
Powering the bike is a 776cc parallel twin-cylinder liquid-cooled engine that produces 81.8bhp at 8,500rpm and 78Nm of torque at 6,800rpm. The engine is shared with the Suzuki V-Strom 800DE and is paired with a six-speed gearbox and assist slipper clutch. Also equipped with a two-into-one exhaust system. Key facilities include a 5-inch color TFT display, ride-by-wire, low-rpm assist, bi-directional quick shifter, traction control, ABS, easy start and multiple riding modes.

The frame of the GSX-8R is a steel diamond design, equipped with a Showa SFF-BP front fork and a Showa linkage rear monoshock with preload adjustment. Braking is provided by twin 310mm front discs and a single 240mm rear disc. The bike has a 14-litre fuel tank and has a curb weight of 205kg.
