by the time As you read this, I will have spent the week at the Barrett-Jackson 2025 Scottsdale Auction. That's not the only game in town, however - AutoHunter has tons of cars up for bid every day. This makes it easier for me to curate my AutoHunter picks, considering that AutoHunter doesn't have over 2,000 cars to choose from like Barrett-Jackson. How lucky I am! But choosing four was no easy task. Oh no, another Chevy! Or maybe the photographer left something to be desired. or. . . It covers all areas. Nonetheless, I think the following four should have broad appeal to most collectors. Which one will you choose? 1965 Buick SkylarkFull of sportiness and style, Skylark is the leader in the A-body series, above the Special and Special Deluxe. When you choose the Skylark, you'll notice extensive use of bright accents and full-width taillights. The Gran Sport package was also new, but most people opted for the…

Happy New Year To ClassicCars.com Journal readers! This is my first AutoHunter pick of 2025, and to my delight I've chosen four eclectic vehicles that fulfill some of my fantasies. Surely there’s something you’ll enjoy too? Tell us which one you would choose! 1959 Volkswagen Beetle SunroofI really liked the old Beetle, but when the parking lights started appearing on top of the fenders, I lost interest. Still, this is just some quirk of mine and means nothing to objectivity, as this 1959 Beetle shares everything with the earlier car, such as the odd lack of a gas gauge, while having better all-around visibility (Adjustment from '58). Improvements for 1959 included stronger clutch springs, an improved fan belt design and a reinforced frame, but these were overshadowed by this particular example's cloth sunroof - this was no ordinary Volkswagen. 1973 Pontiac Grand PrixThe 1969-72 Grand Prix cars weren't exactly loved by many, but the more desirable models, such as the…

NASCAR History Barrett-Jackson Scottsdale Fall Auction
NASCAR History Barrett-Jackson Scottsdale Fall Auction

as former owner As far as a Pace car from Dover Downs goes, I tend to like Pace cars as well as replicas for sale to the public. I know I'm not alone, because the Chevrolet Heritage Collection features a variety of admirable race cars from two popular NASCAR racing events. Twenty-one of the works will be offered at the Barrett-Jackson Scottsdale Fall Auction at Westworld, October 10-13, 2024. While the most famous pace cars come from the Indianapolis 500, the following featured cars come from Indy's Brickyard 400, which has been part of the NASCAR series since 1994. While not officially roadworthy, the horsepower and custom livery of the featured race cars below set them apart from the mainstream models sold to the public. 2007 Chevrolet Corvette Z06The 2007 Corvette Z06 needs no introduction, but in case you need a reminder, it's a sibling C6 powered by a 505-horsepower LS7 7.0-liter small-block mated to a six-speed manual transmission. In…

Daily Picks: 2007 Cadillac XLR-V
Daily Picks: 2007 Cadillac XLR-V

this Daily Selection It's a 2007 Cadillac XLR-V listed on ClassicCars.com by a New York dealer. In a 1976 brochure, Cadillac called its Eldorado convertible "the last of its kind" and warned readers: "This is the only convertible currently built in America—there won't be another like it for 1977." Sure enough, the 1977 Eldorado brochure didn't show a convertible, but its predecessor wasn't the last of its kind. Cadillac released the updated Eldorado Biarritz convertible in 1984. The Pinifarina-designed Allante followed for the 1987 model year. Its successor, the XLR, arrived in 2004. In the years leading up to the XLR's release, Cadillac made some major changes to its product line. By the 2004 model year, it already had two SUVs: the SRX and the Escalade. It also decided to appeal to performance-minded buyers with its V-Series of cars, starting with the LS6-powered CTS-V sedan. The XLR benefited from Cadillac's focus on building cars that combine comfort with performance. First,…

Featured Car Hunter Networkan online auction platform operated by ClassicCars.com, is auctioning this 2007 Honda Accord EX Coupe. A portion of the proceeds from the sale of this car will be donated to the American Cancer Society. “The world of car enthusiasts is a very tight-knit family,” said Tyson Hugie, one of our ClassicCars.com Journal contributors. In addition to his editorial work, Tyson has managed an automotive-themed YouTube channel for nearly 18 years, during which time he has connected with some amazing people through the platform. One of those people was Mark Walters of Arvada, CO. Tyson's love of Honda/Acura fascinated Mark, especially some of Tyson's recent restorations. Earlier this year, Tyson received an email from Mark that read, "I have owned Hondas for 37 consecutive years. My first was a 1987 Accord LX-i hatchback, followed by a 2007 Accord EX five-speed, and a 2021 Ridgeline. I now find myself in a serious health situation. I need to find a…
