Toyota RAV4 and Lexus NX wheels may come off
Toyota and Lexus dealers will need to tighten the bolts and possibly repair the damaged parts. December 6, 2024 — Toyota RAV4 and Lexus NX vehicles built in September 2024 may have their front wheels detached. In addition to wheels coming off, the front brake calipers may also come off. The recall only affects 80 2024 Toyota RAV4 vehicles and 2025 Lexus NX vehicles in the United States and Canada. According to Toyota, some bolts may not be tightened properly and may loosen over time. If the front caliper falls off, expect braking problems; if the wheel falls off while driving, expect pure hell. Toyota hasn't released much information, but owners will be contacted about the recall in February 2025. Dealers will ensure that the front brake caliper mounting bracket and wheel bearing bolts are tight. But any damaged parts around the wheels will be replaced. Toyota customers can call 800-331-4331 and Lexus customers can call 800-225-3987.
Lexus NX and Lexus RX front headrests must be replaced
Lexus is recalling 12,000 SUVs because of a possible malfunction in the front driver and passenger headrests. June 27, 2024 — Lexus NX and Lexus RX are recalling more than 12,000 SUVs in Canada and the U.S. due to head restraint issues. The recalled models are 2024 Lexus RX and 2024-2025 Lexus NX SUVs, both of which have front driver and passenger headrests that can be removed without pressing a release button. Despite the limited information, Lexus said the head restraint issue increased the risk of injury to passengers and also violated safety standards. More than 1,000 SUVs are being recalled in Canada. Lexus dealers will replace the front driver and passenger head restraints. Lexus RX and Lexus NX owners should be on the lookout for a head restraint recall letter before the end of August 2024. Lexus NX and RX customers with questions should call Lexus at 800-255-3987.
