The New Zealander started from the back of the grid and made a stunning sprint to claim his 13th career victory, equaling the record. The game was filled with drama and multiple red flags. One of the interruptions was caused by a spectacular crash by defending champion Pascal Wehrlein, which thankfully resulted in no injuries. Porsche Racing's Antonio Felix da Costa narrowly finished second, just 0.3 seconds behind Evans.
