Mahindra XUV 3XO gets 5-star crash test safety rating
The Mahindra XUV 3XO scored 29.36 out of 32 points in Adult Occupant Protection (AOP), where the driver's chest was adequately protected by the deformable barrier in the event of an offset frontal collision. The Bharat New Car Assessment Program (BNCAP), launched by the Indian government in October 2023, uses crash tests to assess the safety of vehicles in the event of an accident or injury and awards stars based on their performance. A 5-star crash test safety rating, such as the one recently awarded to the Mahindra XUV 3XO (or XUV300 facelift), indicates the highest possible score. Mahindra announced that total sales in October 2024 were 96,648 vehicles, a year-on-year increase of 20%. Passenger car sales increased 25% to 54,504 units from 43,708 units in October 2023. Overall SUV sales, including exports, reached 55,571 units. Mahindra sold 3,14,714 vehicles in FY25, up 22 per cent from 2,58,622 vehicles sold in the previous year. Shipments to the international market were 3,506 units, a year-on-year increase of 89%. Commenting on the sales, Veejay Nakra, President, Automotive Division, M&M Ltd., said: “We are delighted to have recorded a record-high SUV sales in October at 54,504 units, a growth of 25%, taking the total sales to an all-time high of 96,648 units, a growth of 20%. Mahindra XUV 3XO gets price hike for first time since launch
Nearly 6 months after launching the XUV 3XO in India, Mahindra has revised the prices of the car. Mahindra XUV 3XO is now priced at Rs 7.79 lakh (ex-showroom) for the base MX1 petrol-MT variant, an increase of Rs 30,000. While the price of the MX3 Pro remains the same, the MX2 Pro petrol variant is now Rs 25,000 more expensive. Like the MX1 petrol variant, the price of the AX5 variant with the 109bhp, 1.2-litre turbo-petrol engine has been increased by Rs 30,000. On the other hand, the AX5 diesel variant is priced between Rs 12.19 lakh and Rs 12.99 lakh (both ex-showroom). Mahindra XUV 3XO EV debuts, showcases
Mahindra has started road testing of an electric derivative of the XUV 3XO, which it launched in India in April 2024. The Mahindra XUV 3XO EV, which was first revealed, could be launched in late 2024. Codenamed S240 internally by Mahindra, this EV will sit below the XUV400, which received its most substantial update in January 2024 in the form of a redesigned interior.
