The Tata Tiago, the spiritual successor to the Indica, is one of the brand’s most revolutionary mass-market products. There’s also an all-electric version of the hatchback called the Tiago EV. At the end of 2024, Tata Motors updated the Tiago EV.
While the electric hatchback doesn’t come in any other color, Tata Motors has removed the Midnight Plum color from the Tiago EV’s color palette. Tiago EV is India’s most affordable 5-door electric car priced at Rs 7.99 lakh (excluding taxes) for the base XE mid-range variant and Rs 11.49 lakh (excluding taxes) for the XZ+ Tech Lux long-range variant.

One of India’s most popular electric cars, the Tata Tiago EV, was once available in as many as five different colours. These include Pristine White, Midnight Plum, Teal Blue, Daytona Gray and Tropical Mist. Out of these five colors, Tata Motors has removed Midnight Plum from the color palette, leaving only four options.
The Midnight Plum color option is discontinued immediately and dealers have been notified. It is recommended that dealers communicate with pre-order customers and offer other color options. The Tiago EV remains the same as its predecessor, except for the elimination of the Midnight Plum color.
It is based on the ICE Tiago hatchback and comes with an electric powertrain. In terms of design, the Tiago EV uses a unique closed front grille to achieve a distinctive design. This gives the Tiago EV a unique appearance that is instantly recognizable. Projector headlights, LED daytime running lights, stylized steel wheels and piano black inserts in the door handles are eye-catching exterior elements.
Inside, Tata Motors offers luxurious leatherette seat upholstery in light colours, creating an airy feel. The steering wheel is leather wrapped and comes with multiple switches for music and cruise control, 7-inch infotainment screen by Harman, up to 8 speakers, 45W front USB charger, speed dependent volume, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay among other key features . Other features include fully automatic climate control, cooled glovebox, electric ORVMs with auto-folding function, auto-dimming IRVMs, automatic headlamps, rain-sensing wipers, rear defogger, rear washer and wipers, etc.
The updated Tiago EV comes with the same battery options as before – a 19.2 kWh battery pack for the mid-range model and a 24 kWh battery pack for the long-range model. Promising a driving range of up to 315 kilometers on a single charge, the Tiago EV also offers an optional 7.2 kW AC charger option for fast charging at home. The Tiago EV has a maximum power of 74 bhp and a maximum torque of 114 Nm.
