  • These record-breaking supercars are part of an exclusive private collection owned by an entrepreneur.
  • Bugatti claims the W16 Mistral requires “minimal fine-tuning optimization” to break the record.

Owning a Bugatti is enough to get anyone into the upper echelons of flex culture – but Have four? That’s billionaire-level Pokémon collecting. However, one Indian entrepreneur has managed it, collecting an entire set of Bugatti World Record Edition models and storing them in an undeniably palatial garage. After all, if you’re not leaving your favorite hotel’s valet scrambling to find a place to park your W16 Mistral, are you doing it right?

In typical mysterious and smug fashion, Bugatti did not reveal the name of the ultra-rich collector. However, they did hint that these mechanical unicorns were part of the “Singer Collection.” This strongly suggests that the owner is Reuben Singh, a businessman with a penchant for expensive cars and a fleet of Rolls-Royces, enough to match the colors of his everyday wardrobe.

A garage fit for a legend

In addition to the world record version, Singer’s collection reportedly includes a Bugatti Divo, a Ferrari Monza SP2 and Daytona SP3, an Aston Martin Valkyrie, and of course the aforementioned color-coordinated Rolls-Royce Les. Not content with just having these icons, Singer recently sent his quartet world record version to the Ehra-Lessien racetrack in Germany for a special shoot.

The world record version recently came together for a special photo shoot at Germany’s Ehra-Lessien racetrack, a facility also used by Bugatti for high-speed testing. The exclusive lineup includes Veyron 16.4 Super Sport, Veyron 16.4 Grand Sport Vitesse, Chiron Super Sport 300+ and W16 Mistral. Each car set a speed record, cementing their status as important milestones in Bugatti’s history.

The supercars share a similar livery, with orange accents on the carbon fiber bodywork. Each car is powered by a quad-turbo 8.0-liter W16 powertrain and features performance, aerodynamic and chassis modifications designed for maximum speed. Below, you’ll see the production numbers of each special edition, along with its top speed and the driver who achieved it.

While the world record edition models based on the Veyron and Chiron were produced in limited quantities, the W16 Mistral is unique and therefore extremely rare. Bugatti Rimac CEO Mate Rimac revealed in a recent interview that owners asked the company if they could give the sports car a world-record version, making it the fastest convertible in the world.

According to Bugatti, the W16 Mistral requires “minimal modifications” to reach a top speed of 453.91 km/h (282.05 mph). Engineers masked panel gaps to optimize airflow, tuned the suspension to reduce air drag, and removed the speed limiter.

$15 million masterpiece

These “minimal tweaks”, plus unique exterior and interior specs, bring the price of the W16 Mistral World Record Edition to €14 million ($14.7 million), nearly three times the starting price of the $5 million supercar. Still, it’s a fraction of the total cost of the series, which showcases “the aspirational achievements of the community” in the Indian state of Punjab.

While most of us will never come close to sitting in a Bugatti—let alone owning four—we can at least marvel from afar. Or roll your eyes. Or both.
