Tim Kuniskis returns as Ram CEO following executive shakeup

  • Tim Kuniskis will return to lead Ram after a brief retirement.
  • The executive is best known for running the Dodgers, but he also ran Ram before leaving earlier this year.
  • Kuniskis’ return coincides with an executive shakeup, with Larry Dominique set to depart and Chris Feuell taking over at Alfa Romeo in North America.

Stellantis continues to make changes following the departure of Carlos Tavares, with reports that one of their most high-profile employees is set to return. We’re talking about Tim Kuniskis, who became the “face” of Dodge and its high-performance thrust.

In a surprising development, Kuniskis retired as CEO of the Dodgers and Rams on June 1. This marked the end of his nearly 32-year career with the automaker, and with the HEMI era coming to an end, it seemed like a logical time to exit at Dodge.

However, Kuniskis is set to return, with two people telling CNBC he will be in charge of Ram again. While the automaker has yet to publicly announce the move, as of this writing they confirmed Tim’s return in an email to the outlet, saying: “Today’s changes will allow us to operate a Operating within a structure that delivers the best results for the region, a major lever to unlock the huge potential and win the market is to have its CEO focus on the brand.”

Current Ram CEO Chris Feuell is changing roles as Kuniskis plans to return to power. In addition to running Chrysler, she will reportedly be tasked with leading Alfa Romeo in North America as Larry Dominik is said to be leaving.

While Kuniskis’ departure was short-lived, his return comes at an interesting time as Ram sales fell 19% in the third quarter and were down 24% through the first nine months of the year. If lagging sales aren’t already an issue, the company recently revealed that the Ram 1500 REV and Ramcharger have been delayed until 2025.
