Sales of the top 10 two-wheelers exceeded 1.44 million units last month, a year-on-year increase of more than 11%, thanks to Splendor, Activa, and Shine joining the top three
The Indian two-wheeler market witnessed strong growth in October 2024, led by high-performance models catering to diverse customer needs. The top ten two-wheelers’ total sales increased significantly year-on-year, highlighting the industry’s resilience and adaptability.
Top 10 Two-Wheelers in October 2024 – Year-on-Year Performance
With sales of 3,91,612 units, a year-on-year increase of 25.91%, Hero Brilliance continued to hold the top spot, highlighting its popularity in the commuter segment. Honda Activa continued to remain the best-selling scooter with sales reaching 2,66,806 units, an impressive growth of 21.91% year-on-year. It continues to dominate the scooter market with its unparalleled reliability and brand trust.
Honda Shine followed in third place with 1,96,288 units sold, a year-on-year growth of 19.99%, further cementing its position as a favorite among commuters. Hero HF Deluxe ranked fourth with sales of 1,24,343 units, a slight growth of 5.63% year-on-year. However, the Bajaj Pulsar experienced a sharp decline with sales falling 30.78% year-on-year to 1,11,834 units, possibly due to changing consumer preferences in the sporty commuter segment. TVS Jupiter continued to stick to the scooter market, with sales reaching 1,09,702 units, a year-on-year increase of 19.47%.
The Suzuki Access performed well, growing 31.46% year-on-year with sales of 74,813 units, reflecting the growing demand for high-end scooters. On the other hand, Bajaj Platina sales fell 17.24% year-on-year to 61,689 units, indicating challenges for the segment. The TVS XL, the long-term most popular model in the moped category, registered a slight year-on-year decline of 1.47% with sales of 52,380 units. TVS Raider topped the list with sales of 51,153 units, a year-on-year increase of 7.73%, attracting young riders with its stylish design and performance.

“Glory of Heroes” topped the list with sales of 3,91,612 units, a month-on-month increase of 4.18%. Its stable sales reflect its strength in the commuter segment. Honda Activa ranked second with 2,66,806 units, a slight increase of 1.71%, continuing to maintain its dominance in the scooter market. Honda Shine ranked third with sales growth of 7.95% to 1,96,288 units, indicating the growing demand in the premium commuter market.
Hero HF Deluxe posted strong growth of 9.24% with 1,24,343 units sold, reflecting its continued appeal in rural and semi-urban markets. However, Bajaj Pulsar saw a sharp decline of 19.65% month-on-month, with sales falling to 1,11,834 units. This marks a significant decline in sales of sporty commuter motorcycles and hints that the segment may be facing challenges.
TVS Jupiter recorded healthy growth of 6.58% with 1,09,702 units, reaffirming its position as a reliable and feature-rich scooter. The Suzuki Access performed best with sales growth of 39.28%, with sales jumping to 74,813 units, highlighting its growing popularity among premium scooter buyers.
Sales of the Bajaj Platina were also strong with a growth of 23.94% to 61,689 units, showing the demand in the entry-level commuter motorcycle segment. In contrast, TVS XL sales fell 4.71% to 52,380 units, reflecting a slight decline in the moped category. Meanwhile, TVS Raider, with its youthful design and appeal, achieved an impressive growth of 18.21%, with sales reaching 51,153 units.
