Twenty-eight years ago, Toyota launched its certified pre-owned vehicle program in the United States, and in that time no less than 8 million vehicles have been sold through the program. This Supersonic Red 2024 Toyota Camry is the 8 millionth car.

All vehicles sold through the Toyota Certified Pre-Owned Vehicle (TCUV) program must pass a 160-point quality assurance inspection to earn Gold certification. It evaluates everything from exterior and interior appearance to the engine, transmission and transaxle, brakes, tire and suspension wear and operation of all electronic systems.

When a car passes this evaluation, it will receive a 12-month/12,000-mile limited comprehensive warranty, a seven-year/100,000-mile limited warranty, and an impressive seven-year/100,000-mile roadside assistance. Earlier this year, Toyota also launched a Silver Certification Program for select vehicles that are 10 years old or younger and have between 60,000 and 125,000 miles.

Delivered through the TCUV program, this landmark vehicle is sold by Sheehy Toyota of Laurel, Maryland. It’s a lucky day for buyers because not only do they receive the keys to a shiny 2024 Camry, but Toyota also sends them a check for the total purchase price of the car. They also donated $10,000 to Active Minds, a nonprofit that promotes mental health awareness and education for young people. This customer also received a one-year subscription to SiriusXM.

While buying a certified pre-owned car is typically more expensive than buying an equivalent used car from a private seller, doing so can give shoppers added peace of mind that their new car has been well-maintained and thoroughly inspected before it changes hands. . Having a warranty is also a nice bonus.
