Toyota Hyryder SUV waiting period in India up to 2 months

The waiting time for Toyota’s Urban Cruiser Hyryder SUV has been reduced to two months in India, giving relief to potential buyers eager to get their hands on the popular hybrid vehicle. Initially, the waiting time surged due to high demand. The Hyryder has been a hit in the mid-size SUV market with its fuel-efficient hybrid powertrain and advanced features. Available in both mild-hybrid and strong-hybrid variants, it appeals to environmentally conscious consumers looking for a reliable, efficient vehicle. The reduction in waiting time is expected to further boost sales and improve Toyota’s ability to meet the growing demand for hybrid technology.

Toyota Hyryder SUV: Waiting period

The waiting period for the CNG model of the Hyryder is up to 2 months (8 weeks) from September 2024. On the other hand, consumers who choose the mild hybrid and strong hybrid models will experience a shorter waiting period of about 1 month (4 weeks) after placing an order. In March this year, the waiting time for the SUV was as long as 10 months (39 weeks).

Toyota offers a wide range of interior options, including three engine choices, four variants and 11 paint jobs. These include seven single-tone and four two-tone paint jobs.

Toyota Hyryder SUV: Powertrain options

The Toyota SUV’s 1.5-litre TNGA Atkinson cycle engine produces 92bhp and 122Nm of peak torque when equipped with an eCVT gearbox. The combined output of the engine and electric motor is 114bhp, of which the electric motor alone contributes 79bhp and 141Nm of torque. According to Toyota, the powerful hybrid system, backed by a 117.6V lithium-ion battery, enables an impressive fuel efficiency of 27.97km/l. The Hyryder also offers a mild-hybrid option, powered by the same 1.5-litre K15C engine as the Ertiga and Brezza. The Neo Drive motor is paired with a six-speed torque converter automatic gearbox or a five-speed manual gearbox to produce a maximum power output of 103bhp and a peak torque of 137Nm. The 1.5-litre K-series engine in the CNG model of the car delivers 87bhp and 121.5Nm of torque.

Toyota Hyryder SUV: Feature Set

The dashboard of the Hyryder is the same as that of the Baleno and Glanza. The strong hybrid model gets black and brown interiors, while the mild hybrid model gets an all-black cabin. Key features include ventilated front seats, paddle shifters, ambient lighting, smartphone and smartwatch connectivity, and a 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system. Other highlights include a head-up display, panoramic sunroof, and wireless phone charging. In terms of safety, the SUV comes with vehicle stability control, ABS with EBD, 360-degree camera, tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS), and up to six airbags.

Toyota Hyryder SUV: Competition is fierce

In the highly competitive Indian SUV market, Hyryder’s main rivals include the Kia Seltos, Volkswagen Taigun, Skoda Kushaq, MG Astor, Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, Honda Elevate and Hyundai Creta.
