- These vehicles have a misaligned seatback striker that can prevent the left rear seat from locking into place.

Dodge is recalling more than 3,000 Charger and Challenger vehicles because the left rear seat may not lock into an upright position, a clear safety hazard for rear passengers.
According to the government, the vehicles have a misaligned left rear seatback latch that could prevent the seatback from locking into place. The issue affects 898 Chargers and 2,852 Challengers from the 2023 model year. The Chargers were built between June 24 and June 28, 2023, while the Challengers were built between July 29 and August 16.

Dodge first became aware of the problem last July when it discovered that some Chargers had left rear seatbacks that would not lock. The following month, Challengers began to experience the same problem.
Fast forward to this summer, when the company’s technical safety and regulatory compliance teams became aware of “a manufacturing issue with certain vehicles.” This prompted a voluntary recall.
As part of the recall, dealers will inspect the striker and adjust it if necessary. Owner notifications will begin next month.
