From Chicago to Paris to Spain, it is the world’s top destination for MICE groups.
Drawing on leads and RFPs from a vast network of independent DMCs (Destination Management Companies) from around the world, Global DMC partners (GDP) released the 2024 Global Destination Index.
“It’s interesting to see the new destinations on this year’s list and the changes in the order of popularity of the top ten, especially since our industry is an important indicator of the world’s economic strength and is where the most business is done,” said President and Chief Executive Officer of Global DMC Partners Chief executive Catherine Chaulet said in a press statement: “We are also seeing increased interest in secondary destinations, with an increase in the number of potential customers for 2024 or 2025 compared to previous years. ”

Key secondary destinations for international meetings and incentives travel include the French Riviera, “where groups can land in Nice and be in Monaco on one side and Cannes on the other in half an hour,” says Cholet. “These three major cities offer excellent event infrastructure and stunning hotels, surrounded by picturesque villages, boutique hotels and vineyards.” She also noted that groups were interested in Malaga, Seville and Interest is growing from Spanish cities such as Valencia. “With seasonal daily direct flights from New York and stylish four- and five-star hotels in its charming city centre, Malaga ranks high in Spain’s rankings for hosting small and medium-sized groups.
