The KTM 200 Duke’s new color TFT display replaces the earlier LCD backlight unit that had been in use for more than a decade
As part of its annual upgrade campaign, KTM has introduced new features to the 200 Duke to ensure a better overall experience for enthusiasts. Starting in October, the popular KTM 200 Duke will be equipped with a new 5-inch color TFT display. The updated 200 Duke is priced starting at Rs 2,03,412 (excluding Delhi city).
2024 KTM 200 Duke – New 5-inch TFT display
The KTM 200 Duke’s new TFT color display is placed at the right angle to ensure easy visibility for the rider. The new TFT display is derived from the unit used on the Gen-3 KTM 390 DUKE. All information is presented in a clear and concise manner.
While the TFT display may look fragile, it’s made from bonded glass and designed to be sturdy and durable. KTM has also added a new switch cube that can be used to access various functions of the TFT display. A 4-way menu switch allows users to access various functions including smartphone connectivity. Users can answer or reject incoming calls and access music from their smartphone. Route navigation is also available via the KTM My-Ride app. Menu switches provide easy access to various functions while riding your bike.
Bluetooth functionality and route navigation
Thanks to integrated Bluetooth, the rider will be able to identify incoming calls as shown on the TFT display. Depending on their preference, riders can use the mode switch to answer or reject calls. As a safety measure to avoid rider distraction, KTM limits the number of functions that can be accessed. For example, riders will not be able to access their phone’s address book. Additionally, Bluetooth does not support making calls while riding.
Riders can access route guidance by pairing their smartphone with the KTM Connect app via Bluetooth. KTM offers a versatile and accurate navigation system with directions displayed on a TFT display. In addition to navigation, the KTM Connect app can be used to access other trip information and important bike-related data and information.
Headphone Pairing, Supermoto ABS, Customization
With Bluetooth helmet headphones, riders can access music via their smartphone. This can be achieved with a bike equipped with KTM MY RIDE. Once paired via Bluetooth, riders can access various music functions using the menu switch on the left handlebar. For example, riders can change tracks and increase or decrease volume. Information about the track being played is displayed on the TFT screen.
If desired, the rider can select Supermoto ABS mode via the TFT display. When Supermoto ABS is activated, the ABS function on the rear wheel will be disengaged. This may be needed for superbike riding or racing where control of the slide is required.
Riders can customize the 5-inch TFT display to their liking. For example, the gearshift speed and speed limiter can be changed via the menu switches. Several of the options available on the display can also be customized. Users can also customize some shortcut keys for certain functions. Apart from the above updates, there are no other mechanical changes on the 2024 KTM 200 Duke. Powering the bike is a 199.5 cc liquid-cooled single-cylinder engine that produces 25 PS and 19.3 Nm. It is paired to a 6-speed gearbox.
