2024 Maruti Suzuki Dzire sculpts its own image instead of being essentially a stretched Swift like previous iteration
After taking the wraps off the latest Maruti Suzuki Dzire recently, it has finally been launched with launch prices ranging from Rs 6.79 lakh to Rs 10.14 lakh (ex-showroom). Available in LXi, VXi, ZXi and ZXi+ variants, the biggest highlight of the new Dzire is undoubtedly the sedan, which now truly differentiates itself from the Swift hatchback.

In more detail, in previous iterations of Dzire, it was always referred to as “extended Swift” because its design was almost identical. That all changes with the latest iteration as it gets a subtle yet modern concept with an Innova Crysta-like front grille flanked by LED DRL and LED projector headlights. Turning to the sides, there are new 15-inch alloy wheels. The rear gets a trunk lip spoiler and a new LED taillight design with a Y-shaped pattern.
While the exterior has changed significantly from before, the cabin does have a familiar feel. That being said, 2024 Maruti Suzuki Dzire gets lighter Black and beige theme with silver accents. There are significant improvements in features such as a 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, automatic climate control, rear air vents, power-adjustable mirrors, keyless entry with push-button start/stop , cruise control and a wireless phone charging pad. What’s more, it comes with an industry-first single-pane sunroof and 360-degree camera, which is not available in the Swift.
Safety features include ABS with EBD, six airbags as standard, ESC, Hill Start Assist, Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) and ISOFIX child seat mounts, among others. These facts are important as the 2024 Maruti Suzuki Swift recently became the first Maruti car to receive a five-star safety rating from GNCAP.
It’s no surprise that the new Dzire shares its mechanicals with the new Swift. we mean it consists of new The Z series 1.2-liter three-cylinder petrol engine can provide 82 horsepower and 112 Nm of torque. It can be had with a five-speed manual gearbox or a five-speed AMT unit. A CNG version is also available, with output reduced to 70 hp and 102 Nm, and is limited to a five-speed manual gearbox. Fuel economy ratings are 24.79 km/l (MT), 25.71 km/l (AMT) and 33.73 km/kg (CNG MT).
With the launch of the 2024 Maruti Suzuki Dzire, the brand has breathed new life into the sub-four meter sedan segment, reigniting competition with the Hyundai Aura and Tata Tigor. Let’s also not forget about the Honda Amaze, which will soon launch a new version.
