The new 2024 Maruti Swift is available in five variants. The range starts with the base LXi model which is priced at Rs 6.49 lakh ex-showroom. Today, we will see what features are offered in the base model of the 2024 Swift and what additional features are added to the base model compared to the base model of the previous generation Swift.
The YouTube video uploaded by Her Garage showcases the car. The YouTuber named the video “Sorry Tata Punch” and called the 2024 Swift her new love. Now, let’s get into the details of this car.
The car showcased in the video is the LXi trim, which comes in Pearl Arctic White colour. The video starts with the front of the car. This time, Maruti has offered projector headlamps even in the base variant. However, these projectors come with halogen bulbs. DRLs are not offered on this model. Instead, chrome strips are added in the headlamps.
The gloss black honeycomb grille adds a premium feel to the car. As expected, this base model does not come with fog lamps. In comparison, the previous generation Swift was equipped with halogen reflector headlights and a matte black grille.
The car rides on 14-inch rims, which might disappoint some people. Maruti still offers fender-mounted indicators. The higher variants of the Swift offer turn signals integrated in the ORVMs. The door handles and ORVMs are not body-coloured, which is a big drawback. The ORVMs are neither electrically adjustable nor electrically foldable on this model. The adjustments have to be done manually by touching and adjusting the glass, which can be annoying at times.
Maruti has equipped the new Swift with LED tail lamps. The key features of the rear profile include four reverse parking sensors and a rear defogger. Maruti had also provided reverse parking sensors in the previous Swift base model, but the defogger is a new addition. A trunk release button has been added to the tailgate, which was not there earlier.
Now, let’s talk about the cabin of the car. This time, Maruti has provided central locking along with remote locking/unlocking as standard. The previous generation Swift did not have this feature in the LXi trim. Also, Maruti has provided auto up/down feature for all four power windows for the driver’s side window.
The doors are covered in soft fabric material. The steering wheel is similar to the previous generation Swift without any controls or leather wrapping. The instrument cluster has also been updated. The tachometer that has been added is not available on the LXi trim of the previous generation Swift. Features like infotainment system, steering wheel controls and cruise control are missing.
Maruti offers manual air conditioning in the 2024 Swift but with a digital display. The new Swift has received a major upgrade in safety and now comes with six airbags as standard. The engine has also been changed. The 2024 Swift is powered by a 1.2-litre three-cylinder engine that produces 80 PS and 111 Nm of torque. Transmission options include a 5-speed manual and an AMT.
