The upcoming Nissan Magnite facelift will compete with Tata Nexon, Maruti Brezza, Mahindra XUV3XO, Hyundai Venue, Kia Sonet and Renault Kiger
After launching the X-Trail premium SUV, Nissan is gearing up to launch the Magnite facelift with meaningful upgrades to give it a fresh look for the festive season. Ahead of its launch on October 4, the Nissan Magnite’s facelifted design has been on full display in what looks like a dealership lot. Let’s see what’s new.
Nissan Magnite facelift design
In a rather interesting turn of events, the design of the Nissan Magnite Facelift has been fully revealed ahead of its launch. Units appear to have arrived in showrooms and were showcased ahead of the launch on October 4. As expected, this is a small update for Nissan in the sub-40 lakh SUV segment.
Being an affordable offering, the Magnite is expected to sell higher than the pre-facelift model. We can see the car’s updated design in recent spy shots. Up front, we see an updated fascia and a redesigned bumper with larger silver elements that mimic bull bars.
Nissan added a black finish around the chrome elements on either side of the grille. From the outside, the Nissan Magnite appears to retain the previous grille dimensions but adopt a new pattern. The headlights look similar to the pre-facelift model, which is probably not a bad thing as it features LED projectors with LED turn signals.
The boomerang-shaped LED daytime running lights also look similar to the pre-facelift model. On the sides we get new alloy wheels and that’s about it. At the back, the bumper looks like it’s been slightly redesigned. The main change, though, is the LED taillights with clear housings. The brake lights appear to be LED lights this time. This particular unit was spotted with a gold or brown exterior color, which could be the launch color for the Magnite facelift. Inside, we can see that Nissan has added a touch of playfulness with the Magnite facelift. We can see this in the orange and black interior theme.
What updates are there to the interior?
Apart from the color theme, there don’t appear to be any new updates on the inside. At least, that seems to be the case based on Nissan’s recent teaser and these new spy photos. We can see the Lamborghini-style dashboard layout and three-spoke steering system, now with black elements for an added sporty feel.
Features such as automatic climate control, rear AC vents, front and rear armrests, cruise control, push-button start, keyless entry, 7-inch digital instrument cluster, 8-inch infotainment screen with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay will remain intact. We hope Nissan adds auto-dimming IRVMs, ventilated seats, automatic headlights, rain-sensing wipers, and a 360-degree camera, among other things.
The powertrain will continue to remain the same. This means that the 1.0-liter three-cylinder engine can be provided in a naturally aspirated state or a turbocharged state. The NA petrol engine has 71 bhp and 96 Nm and is mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox or AMT. The turbo-petrol engine produces 99 hp and 160 Nm of power, mated to either a 5-speed manual gearbox or a CVT gearbox.
