this Cadillac Lyriq Leading the way is General Motors’ luxury brand’s return to Australia, and right-hand-drive models have been spotted in the wild.
The Lyriq, pictured in the car park at Sandown Raceway, is registered in Victoria and is likely to be the first of its kind before local deliveries begin before the end of 2024.
Cadillac is yet to announce full models and specifications for Australia, but has previously confirmed the Lyriq will come with a dual-motor all-wheel drive powertrain as standard and no rear-wheel drive model will be offered in local showrooms.

This is confirmed by the 600 E4 badge on the boot lid, proving that there’s a 388kW and 610Nm powertrain inside.
The model is equipped with a 102kWh lithium-ion battery. Cadillac has not yet confirmed the Lyriq’s local range figures, but in Europe, it achieves a range of 530 kilometers in the WLTP laboratory cycle.
While US models ride on 20- or 22-inch wheels, this Australian Lyriq is fitted with 21-inch wheels shod with Continental tires.
On the limited equipment list Cadillac has locked down for Australia, the Lyriq is confirmed to include the following features:
- Heated, ventilated and massaging front seats
- Heated rear seats
- Panoramic fixed glass roof with electric sunshade
- Nappa leather interior
- Adaptive LED headlights
- 33-inch 9K resolution LED display
- Apple CarPlay
- Android Auto
- AKG Studio 19 speaker sound system
Local pricing is expected to be announced closer to the model’s launch, but Cadillac says the car will be priced competitively with rivals that start around $130,000.
These competitors include the BMW iX, Audi Q8 e-tron and Mercedes-Benz EQE SUV.
Cadillac has confirmed it will open two experience centres where you can buy a Lyriq: one in Melbourne and another in Sydney.
