The 471cc parallel twin DOHC 4V/cylinder liquid-cooled engine on the 2025 Honda CL500 Scrambler produces 46 bhp and 43.4 Nm, mated to a 6-speed gearbox
Honda, one of the world’s most iconic motorcycle manufacturers, is always updating its product portfolio. The latest update is its premium Scrambler style motorcycle, the CL500. The motorcycle has been updated with a new set of colors for the MY25 and some improvements have been made to make it a better product than before.
2025 Honda CL500 Scrambler
Honda first launched the CL500 at EICMA 2022 a few years ago. The motorcycle was showcased alongside the likes of Rebel CMX1100T and Transalp ADV. This is a classic retro motorcycle with Scrambler DNA, designed to provide the perfect blend of on- and off-road performance.
In the 2025 Honda CL500 Scrambler, the company is offering four eye-catching colors that are mainly seen only on the fuel tank. The colors are Pearly Dark Yellow, Matte Fresco Brown, Matte Laurel Green Metallic, and finally, we have Matte Gunpowder Black Metallic. The negative LCD instrument panel has been updated to improve legibility.
Design has always been one of the CL500’s key attributes and strengths, as it adheres to a neo-retro style. The motorcycle will be launched in select markets in 2023, but not in India. The Honda CL series also has other displacement options, including 250cc, 300cc and 500cc products.
All these motorcycles have almost similar design elements to maintain the family identity. The round headlight houses four LED elements. Apart from the metallic finish on the clutch, brake lever and fork, Honda has gone for a matte black look almost everywhere, which complements the overall design of the bike.
We have a round instrument case along with wide handles and forked leg guards to create a Scrambler-esque look. Round headlights, one-piece ribbed seats, clean tail, exposed trellis frame, pill-shaped LED taillights, upswept exhaust pipes with thick heat shields and round LED turn signals are other notable additions design elements.
style and performance
Honda also offers various accessory packages to enhance the design of the bike. There’s a Touring Pack with a functional saddle on the left side, an Adventure Pack with a front beak, and a Style Pack with a cafe racer-looking headlight housing. The alloy wheels are 19-inch at the front and 17-inch at the rear, and there are disc brakes with dual-channel ABS at both ends.
Powering the motorcycle is the same 471cc DOHC 4V/cylinder liquid-cooled parallel twin engine, which is capable of producing peak power of approximately 46 bhp and peak torque of 43.3 Nm, mated to a 6-speed gearbox. Although HMSI has patented the design of the bike, the chances of the CL500 being launched in India are very slim.
