After updating the Activa 125, Honda Motorcycles and Scooters India (HMSI) has launched the updated 2025 SP125, a commuter motorcycle that complies with the upcoming OBD2B regulations. Packed with advanced features, modern design elements and powerful specifications, the SP125 aims to redefine the 125cc segment. The price of the new SP125 starts at Rs. 91,771 (ex-showroom, Delhi).
2025 Honda SP125 launched
The SP125 and its sibling, the Shine 125, continue to dominate the 125cc motorcycle category with combined monthly sales of approximately 1.5 lakh units, making them the best-selling motorcycles in the segment. The Honda SP125 has been engineered for comfort and practicality, making it an ideal choice for daily commuting.
With a length of 2020 mm, a width of 785 mm and a height of 1103 mm, it has a balanced and compact appearance. The SP125 has a wheelbase of 1285 mm and a ground clearance of 160 mm, ensuring stability and easy maneuverability in various road conditions. The 790mm seat height strikes a balance between comfort and accessibility for riders of varying heights, while the 116kg curb weight makes it light and easy to maneuver. In addition, the bike is equipped with an 11.2-liter fuel tank, allowing for longer riding distances without the need for frequent stops for refueling.
Engine specifications
The 2025 SP125 is powered by a 124cc single-cylinder fuel-injected engine that delivers 8 kW of power at 7500 rpm and 10.9 Nm of torque at 6000 rpm, mated to a 5-speed gearbox. The engine is OBD2B compliant, ensuring compliance with the latest emission standards. Additionally, an idle-stop system improves fuel efficiency by shutting down the engine during brief stops, making it ideal for city riding.
It comes with tubeless tires: front: 80/100-18 M/C 47P, rear: 100/80-18 M/C 53P. Braking is controlled by a 240mm disc or 130mm drum at the front and a 130mm drum at the rear, providing reliable stopping power. The bike comes with a multi-plate wet clutch that ensures smooth shifting through a 5-speed gearbox.
