- Jeep has announced some changes for the 2025 Wrangler.
- The 3.6-liter V6 is now only available with a manual transmission.
- The model also features newly standard power windows and locks, and a newly available Olive Drab paint color.
Nearly three months after Jeep announced that the Wrangler 392 Final Edition wasn’t final, the company has revealed additional changes coming to the Wrangler for 2025. Unfortunately, they’re a mixed bag, as a popular powertrain combination has been dropped entirely.
We’re talking about the 3.6-liter Pentastar V6, which will now only be available with a six-speed manual transmission. This engine was previously available with an eight-speed automatic, but Jeep charged a whopping $4,500 for it. Even more outrageous, Mopar sells the same transmission for $3,611.20.

Jeep doesn’t say why they decided to forgo this particular powertrain combination, but they do oddly claim that “freedom of choice dictates the available powertrains.” Marketing hyperbole aside, customers who want an automatic will need to choose between a plug-in hybrid powertrain, a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder, or a 6.4-liter HEMI V8.
Another big change for 2025 is the elimination of hand-cranked windows, as all Wranglers now come with power windows and locks. These features were previously limited to Sport S models and above, so their inclusion marks the end of an old era.
Last but not least, the car debuts a new Olive Drab paint color called ’41. The model can also be equipped with the newly available Active Cabin Ventilation system, which allows “customers to better pre-ventilate the cabin via a mobile app before entering the vehicle.”
Considering the extra features of the entry-level Wrangler Sport, it’s not surprising that the base price has increased from $31,995 to $32,690. The Sport S two-door is up $100, and the four-door is down $395. The Willys is up $100 and $200, while the Sahara is down $400. It’s important to note, however, that not all features are listed and prices may not be final.
