The 2025 Kia Seltos was tested on Indian roads for the first time, giving a glimpse of what the updated SUV could bring. The test mule showcases several noteworthy design updates, including striking L-shaped LED taillights that hint at a bolder rear profile. While the vehicle is camouflaged, subtle tweaks to the overall styling and possibly changes to the front fascia are expected to be made in line with Kia’s evolving design philosophy. The updated Seltos is expected to build on its existing popularity and incorporate advanced features, improved safety and potential powertrain upgrades. The spy shots have created excitement among SUV enthusiasts and potential buyers in India as Kia works towards bringing the model to the market as soon as possible.

2025 Kia Seltos spy: Key highlights
In just over four years, the Korean carmaker has reached an impressive milestone with the Seltos, selling over 500,000 units in India and exporting over 150,000 units in the same period. A new test mule of the upcoming facelift model has been spotted on Indian roads. Power Stroke PS showed off the heavily camouflaged prototype in a video on YouTube, hiding most of its external features. However, the unique L-shaped LED taillights inspired by the EV9 are clearly visible, echoing previous spy shots.
Previous images showed more updates, including an updated front profile with square LED headlights, redesigned LED DRLs, and a revised grille with vertical slats. Other changes include dual-tone ORVMs, uniquely styled diamond-cut alloys and a wider, longer body that enhances its road presence.
Inspired by the Kia EV3, the next-generation Seltos will offer a completely redesigned interior. It may get updated door trim, orange accents, ambient lighting, and new headrest designs. Although the instrument panel and cockpit are hidden, reports indicate that the instrument panel has a layered design. In addition, the steering wheel may be transformed from the current three-spoke design to a more modern two-spoke style to enhance the feel of the interior.

While details about the powertrain remain under wraps, some industry reports suggest Kia will offer multiple engine options for the new model. This could include turbocharged petrol and diesel engines, and later a petrol hybrid version. The brand had earlier hinted at the possibility of launching a petrol hybrid version in the country. The current generation Seltos is available with three engine options: 1.5-litre naturally aspirated (NA) petrol, 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol and 1.5-litre diesel. The updated model is likely to retain the same turbo petrol and diesel engines.
Kia cars will become expensive from January 1, 2025
Kia India has announced that it will implement price increases for its entire range of models from January 1, 2025. Most models will see price increases of up to 2%. The company attributed the price increase to rising raw material costs and supply chain challenges. Currently, Kia India offers six models: Sonet, Seltos, Carens, Carnival, EV6 and EV9. Additionally, the brand plans to expand its product lineup with the launch of the Syros SUV later this month.
