Although Leapmotor has yet to announce its retail stores in Australia, the company claims it will be able to tap into Stellantis’ sales and service network.
Leapmotor International is a joint venture between Stellantis (owner of Jeep and Peugeot, with a 51% stake) and China’s Leapmotor Automotive Co., which owns the remaining 49%.
The company says two models will be the protagonists of its rapid global expansion: the T03 city car and the C10. Only the latter has been confirmed for Australia.
Leapmotor said it will launch at least one new model every year over the next three years. The company released a product roadmap earlier this year showing plans to launch a small SUV in 2025, a small hatchback in 2026, and a light hatchback and SUV in 2027.
Drivetrain
The C10 is equipped with a single rear-mounted electric motor with a power of 160kW and rear-wheel drive.
efficiency
The C10 is equipped with a 69.9kWh lithium iron phosphate battery and has a claimed WLTP range of 420km.
Leapmotor claims it takes about 30 minutes to charge from 30% to 80% using direct current.
aspect
The C10 is very similar in size to the Tesla Model Y.

All C10s will come standard with 17 advanced driver assistance features driven by 12 sensors.
While the company didn’t provide a full list for Australia, in China it comes with equipment such as autonomous emergency braking, blind-spot monitoring, lane centreing, lane keep assist and rear cross traffic alert.
The company has confirmed all Australian-market C10s will come with seven airbags and a surround-view camera.
