design
The Dzire now measures 3995 mm in length, 1735 mm in width, 1525 mm in height, has a wheelbase of 2450 mm and has a ground clearance of 163 mm. Apart from a slight increase in height, it retains similar dimensions to the outgoing model but sports a new design language. Unlike the previous generations, the new Dzire does not share the same design cues as the Swift hatchback, giving it a unique aesthetic identity.
Design updates include a flat hood with subtle creases, a redesigned hexagonal grille with horizontal slats and chrome details, and LED headlights with black surrounds. The silhouette features contoured surfaces on the doors and fenders, complemented by new diamond-cut alloy wheel designs on higher trims. The rear has also been updated, including square taillights with 3D Trinity LED elements.
Interior and features
Inside, Maruti Suzuki has integrated the new beige interior theme with dark brown, silver trim and faux wood veneer on the dashboard. The Dzire comes with a 9-inch Smartplay Pro Plus infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, as well as Maruti’s connected car technology.
The higher trims of the Dzire come with a factory-fitted single-pane sunroof, a unique feature in the compact sedan category. Additional features include cruise control, rear air conditioning vents, a rear center armrest and a 360-degree camera, providing a significant upgrade over the previous model in terms of convenience and comfort.
Performance
The new Dzire is powered by the same 1.2-liter three-cylinder Z12E petrol engine as the Swift, which delivers 82 hp and 112 Nm of torque. It includes idle start/stop functionality to improve fuel efficiency. Transmission options include 5-speed manual and 5-speed AMT. For the CNG variant, the engine produces 69.75 hp and 101.8 Nm of torque, providing an economical option for cost-conscious buyers.
Maruti Suzuki claims fuel efficiency of 24.79 km/l for the manual version, 25.71 km/l for the AMT version and 33.73 km/kg for the CNG version.
Safety
The new Dzire has received Global NCAP five-star rating for adult occupant protection and four-star rating for child occupant protection, which is a first for Maruti. This puts it at the forefront of the compact sedan segment in terms of safety. Key safety features include six airbags, Electronic Stability Program (ESP), Hill Hold Assist, ABS with EBD, Brake Assist, three-point seat belts and ISOFIX mounts for all passengers.
While the fourth generation Dzire has been launched for private buyers, Maruti Suzuki will continue to sell the third generation model Dzire Tour to fleet operators. The new Maruti Dzire aims to strengthen Maruti’s position in the compact sedan segment with its improved safety features, design innovations and competitive pricing. By offering vehicles with five-star safety levels at affordable prices, Maruti Suzuki appeals to a wide range of buyers who prioritize safety without compromising on style or comfort.
