Maruti Suzuki Fronx is set to get a major update this year. Ahead of its official launch, an updated version of the compact crossover has been captured on camera without any camouflage. The model seen comes in a dual-tone black and red color scheme and comes with ‘Hybrid’ badges on the rear profile. The recent sightings further corroborate reports that a 2025 strong hybrid version of the Maruti Fronx is in development. The Indo-Japanese carmaker is developing in-house strong hybrid technology for its mass-market vehicles and the Fronx facelift will be the first model to feature the technology.
The 2025 Maruti Fronx full hybrid version will be powered by Swift’s 1.2L, 3-cylinder Z12E petrol engine. If reports are to be believed, the hybrid version of this compact SUV will have a mileage of over 35 km/gallon. Fronx is equipped with a 1.2LK series gasoline engine, matched with a 5-speed manual gearbox and an AMT gearbox, which can provide a maximum power of 89.73PS and a torque of 113Nm. The claimed fuel efficiency of this setup is 21.79kmpl (MT) and 22.89kmpl (AMT).
Unlike Toyota’s Atkinson cycle powertrain, which uses a series-parallel setup, Maruti Suzuki’s new strong hybrid system will use series hybrid technology. It’s said to be significantly more economical than Toyota’s full-hybrid system. The Indo-Japanese automaker plans to introduce its new hybrid technology into its mass-market vehicles, including the new-generation Baleno hatchback, the new-generation Brezza small SUV and some new upcoming products.
Coming back to the 2025 Maruti Fronx facelift, the compact crossover may also come with ADAS (advanced driver assistance system) technology. Minor design changes are expected, including a slightly revised grille and bumper, new alloys and more. Likewise, the interior of the new Maruti Fronx is likely to come with some extra features.
Currently, there are four models in the Fronx series: Sigma, Delta, Delta+ and Alpha. The top trim of this compact crossover already comes with a 360-degree camera, HUD (heads-up display), cruise control, leather-wrapped steering wheel, Suzuki connected car features, rear AC vents, fast USB charging point, wireless charger and also There are more goodies.
