Based on the Heartect-E platform, the electric SUV will offer two battery pack options – 49kWh and 62kWh – over 500 km in the MIDC series. Both batteries will be paired with front axle-mounted motors, launching power supplies worth 143bhp and 173bhp respectively.
To ensure its success, the automaker is building fast chargers at dealers in the top 100 cities and has built over 1,500 EV-specific service centers in over 1,000 cities. Maruti Suzuki will also launch a dedicated charging app for electric vehicles.
Maruti Fronx Hybrid
The Maruti Fronx compact crossover will be the first model to feature the brand’s own powerful hybrid powertrain. It is one of the upcoming Maruti SUVs and is likely to arrive in mid-2025. The hybrid SUV will feature a series of hybrid technology, which consists of a gasoline engine, generator or range extender, and an electric motor that drives the wheels. This will be cost-effective than Toyota’s Atkinson Hybrid powertrain.

The 7-seater Grand Vitara will be Maruti Suzuki’s answer to the Hyundai Alcazar, Tata Safari and MG Hector Plus. Codenamed Y17, the new Maruti 7-seater SUV will debut in the second half of 2025. It will support the same global C platform and comes with 1.5-liter naturally aspirated gasoline and 1.5-liter petrol hybrid powertrain options.
