2025 Nissan Murano Ariya leaked looks and technology

  • Images of the 2025 Nissan Murano have surfaced online ahead of its official reveal.
  • The photos look authentic, showcasing a modern, Ariya-inspired crossover design.
  • A turbocharged 2.0L four-cylinder engine is expected to replace the outgoing 3.5L V6 engine.

Nissan’s lineup has undergone a massive revamp over the past few years, with one notable exception: the Murano. This midsize crossover debuted at the 2014 New York Auto Show, and there’s no doubt it’s more than a decade old.

var adpushup = window.adpushup = window.adpushup || {que:()}; adpushup.que.push(function() { if (adpushup.config.platform !== “DESKTOP”){ adpushup.triggerAd(“4d84e4c9 -9937-4f84-82c0-c94544ee6f2a”); } else{ adpushup.triggerAd(” 6a782b01-facb-45f3-a88f-ddf1b1f97657″); } });

That’s about to change, as some screenshots of what appears to be an official video have surfaced on a number of social media channels, including solid carshowing off the redesigned crossover. They look like the real thing, as several key elements match previous spy shots.

Knowing this, we can expect a complete overhaul, as the 2025 Murano gets a new front fascia that echoes the one on the Kicks. It has a wide grille flanked by lighting accents and a pronounced air curtain.

var adpushup = window.adpushup = window.adpushup || {que:()}; adpushup.que.push(function() { if (adpushup.config.platform !== “DESKTOP”){ adpushup.triggerAd(“5646c171 -cb6e-4e2c-8440-49013ca72758″); } else{ adpushup.triggerAd(” e7c4c913-3924-4b2d-9279-6c00984dd130″); } });

Looking further forward, we can see the Ariya-esque design, which is even more flashy as it has muscular hips and a sportier body. That being said, ICE-powered models have the familiar greenhouse and contrasting black roof.

While the rear end wasn’t included in the leak, spy shots suggest it will be relatively tame. However, the license plate recess has been moved from the liftgate to the bumper, while the model also gets slimmer taillights and new low-mounted reflectors.

Inside, the dated interior has been replaced with a new design that includes a stepped instrument panel, digital instrument panel and widescreen infotainment system. They’re connected by a two-spoke steering wheel and a modern center stack with a variety of physical controls.

We expect to know full details soon as the reveal is imminent, possibly as early as next month’s Los Angeles Auto Show.

However, previous reports suggested that the crossover would ride on an updated version of the D platform. The current 3.5-liter V6 engine, which produces 260 hp (194 kW) and 240 lb-ft (325 Nm) of torque, is expected to be replaced by a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine. It will likely inherit the design of the Infiniti QX60, producing 268 hp (200 kW / 272 PS) and 286 lb-ft (387 Nm) of torque. We can also expect to find a new nine-speed automatic transmission instead of the usual continuously variable transmission (CVT).
