Skoda Auto Auto India Pvt Ltd (Savwipl) is expected to launch the 2025 Skoda Kodiaq’s premium vehicle game. This new model may replace the current model, and Skoda will launch the new Kodiaq in three versions (Sportline, L&K and RS). Skoda reveals the launch schedule for the new Kodiaq.
2025 Skoda Kodiaq launch
As Brand Director Petr Janeba confirmed, in 2025 Auto Expo 2025, Skoda Auto India has shown a new Kodiaq, which will be launched in India in April 2025. This new generation of Kodiaq is expected to compete with competitors like the recently updated Jeep Meridian and Volkswagen Tiguan. When it comes to pricing, Kodiaq is also competing with the Toyota Fortuner and the upcoming MG Majestor.
The new Skoda Kodiaq will be launched in India at two decorative levels – Sportline and L&K (Laurin & Klement). The company is also expected to launch a more performant version in the form of Kodiaq Rs later in 2025. Testing of the new Kodiaq has begun in India as it will enter the country via the CBU route.
On the other hand, Kodiaq RS will be launched in the form of Direct Import (CBU), similar to Octavia Rs. The more affordable sport line decor will be equipped with many exterior gloss black elements for a sporty appeal. The wheels will also have different designs, and there will be some differences in the interior.
Specifications and powertrain
The model shown at the 2025 Auto Expo is the top Laurin & Klement Trim, the trim will be equipped with numerous chrome platings to exude elegance and sophistication. Inside, we can expect the L&K decoration to be equipped with lighter shades and include more features and equipment.
In case of powertrain involvement, the 2025 Skoda Kodiaq will be equipped with the same 2.0-liter 4-cylinder turbocharged engine that pairs the current model with the AWD system. The engine is rated at 190 bhp and 320 nm, paired with a 7-speed DSG. Kodiaq RS will pack 265 bhp and 400 nm. We’re hoping for a diesel engine option similar to the one shown on the 2025 Auto Expo, but under the hood of the excellent 4×4.
