2025 Subaru BRZ adds Sport mode, price hikes up to $1,100

Subaru has added a new Sport mode button to the updated BRZ, but little else has changed.

2025 Subaru Brz Adds Sport Mode, Price Hikes Up To $1,100
  • The new BRZ has improved handling and features, but looks largely the same.
  • Power continues to come from a 2.4-liter naturally aspirated four-cylinder engine with 228 horsepower.
  • It now starts at $32,265, including a higher destination charge.

The 2025 Subaru BRZ looks nearly identical to the 2024 model it replaces, but it’s undergone a few changes, and naturally, the price has increased by $1,100. Are those changes enough to justify the price increase?

Like last year, the 2025 BRZ is available in Premium, Limited, and tS trims. All models come standard with a six-speed manual transmission, but a six-speed automatic is optional on the Limited. The most significant new feature is a “Sport” mode exclusively for cars equipped with the six-speed manual transmission, which sharpens throttle response.

In Japan, the 2025 BRZ also gets revised damper settings and tweaked electric power steering for improved handling. Oddly, Subaru’s press materials for the U.S.-market BRZ make no mention of suspension changes.

The BRZ Premium is the base of the range. It starts at $32,265, including a $1,170 destination and delivery fee, up from $31,315 last year, when the destination/delivery fee was slightly lower at $1,120.

Those who want something more luxurious can opt for the BRZ Limited, which is available in both manual and automatic trims. The manual starts at $34,915 and the automatic starts at $35,765, up $1,100 and $1,000, respectively. The Limited adds 18-inch alloy wheels, Michelin Pilot Sport 4 tires, heated mirrors, a better sound system, blind-spot detection with lane-keeping assist and rear cross-traffic alert, steering-sensitive headlights, and optional Subaru’s StarLink safety system.

The only upgrade exclusive to the 2025 model is seats wrapped in Ultrasuede fabric with red leather trim and dual-mode seat heater controls.

The BRZ tS tops the range and now starts at $37,415, up from $36,465 last year. It gets unique front and rear Hitachi shocks, Brembo brakes, unique 18-inch wheels, tS badging, and a variety of model-specific interior trims. As with all 2025 models, a 2.4-liter naturally aspirated four-cylinder engine is standard, making 228 horsepower and 184 pound-feet (250 Newton-meters) of torque.
